sorry i do not post much but i do not have much original things to share because everyone here seems to cover it all.
i have had something strike very close to home and i thought i might share it incase someone out there might be thinking the same thing and is trying to put their finger on it.
i should give a small history on it to set it up.. growing up in the truth i was a model young man.

It was when me and my husband moved to California and been in a few KHalls, we noticed the so called brotherly love wasn't there.
Then I saw the last 10 minutes of Dateline that exposed the WTBS for the pedophile coverups..........hypocrisy!

I am in the reverse situation...I am the mother who left an organization (Not Jehovah) but am shunned by my adult kids cause I told them why I could no longer go to meetings.
I too, as an 18 year old had to give up college scholarships to prove how "spiritual" I was..... I could only be a wife and mother and now my Mother title has been taken away. Yeap, I am feeling a bit lost at the age of 50.
But life must go on......and I am trying to find a new me. It's a difficult road to travel, but a necessary one.
So you are not alone in how you feel.....Keep posting and reading and "meet up" with people that feel like you.... and GO TO COLLEGE!!!

i am a pretty inactive protestant, meaning my parents were only able to drag me to church twice a year on christmas eve and easter morning.
he told me early into our relationship that he wanted to marry me and spend the rest of his life with me, and that he has never felt the love for anyone else like he does for me.

i'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but on pages 28-29 of the april 15, 2007 watchtower study on let the congregation be built up, they seem to be trying to justify the notion that a person cannot be 'saved' if they leave the organization, even if they have just cause:.
paragraph 15 reads" in modern times, some have ceased associating with the local congregation, feeling that they will serve god on their own.
they may say that it is because their feelings were hurt, they think a wrong is not being corrected, or they cannot accept some teaching.

Big Tex: I loved your post. My sentiments as well. IF an organization is so vital why would it take thousands of years for one to "pop up"? And if the nation of Israel can lose God's favor, anyone can. The point about having your own personal relationship with Jehovah would be even MORE important during those times because as they say: it's just between you and God anyway. Looks like the WTBS is taking Jehovah out of the picture by stating the only way to Jehovah is thru the WTBS. How presumptuous? Their emphasis is on having a relationship with the WTBS..............this is not what Romans 14: 10-12 says.
Making blanket statements without scriptural support carries no weight with a true Christian.
