(((Nina)))...sorry about the teenage problems...... somehow I escaped that age with problems, but now I don't HEAR from my sons. One has relinquished contact with me...
I should know my work schedule for next week by the end of this week (Friday or Sat.) I sure hope I have that day off, that's the only way I can drive that far to meet up!

I would love to "meet up", but don't have my work schedule for that week.
Where is this restaurant located where you will be having lunch?
Hope you and Big Tex and family are doing well.

My Bethel experience
by new boy inbecause of the length of this, it will be done in two parts.
part 1. i when to bethel march 21,1970. at the time you had to be a pioneer for two years to apply, by the time i left in 1974 they were calling people in who had never pioneered..........average stay was 5 months ( they had signed up for 4 years)..........the reason they left was......well, it was hell.. one of the reasons was, knorr hated bethelites, but he loved the gilead students and why?
because when they screwed up they were thousands of miles away!........just before i got there, they had kicked out over 60!

My son who is shunning me has a JW best friend that went to Bethel and he told me he learned everything that is bad at Bethel like: seeing R-rated movies.....getting drunk...etc..... Talk about a great place to go.........I think NOT!

Where would we be now if there was never a concept of God?
by dh inif (for the sake of argument for those who believe in god) there was no god, and no human being who ever lived had ever come up with or even had a concept of god or a higher being.
where do you think we as human beings would be today.
what do you think our history would be like, and our future?

Facts about the NT Bible
by Amazing inhistorically, the bible is a secondary support for christians and jews.
i was raised roman catholic, and our tradition and practices included the bible, but it was not a key centerpiece of our faith.
the jewish side of my family likewise have a rich history of tradition and faith that is lived, and not pinned down to every word in the bible.

Amazing: very interesting info about the Bible.
After finally realizing that Constantine (pagan) decided what books were to be put in the Bible, I wondered which ones are missing? and WHY would a pagan guy be allowed to decide which books a Christian should read? It to me totally throws off the authenticity of the Bible.
I enjoyed this topic greatly.
