  Jesus and the two criminals dying beside him.....

  i have been watching a couple of the movies retelling the life of christ and i was wondering about the words jesus said to the criminal who asked him to remember him.. the king james version reads: and jesus said unto him, "verily i say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise" luke 23:43. the new world translation reads: and he said to him "truly i tell you today, you will be with me in paradise.

  " luke 23:43. the movie i was watching quoted or at least was closer to the king james version.

  maybe i am wrong but the same scriptures seem to imply two different things.

  You all have good points...

  Also, something to keep in mind is that a DAY with Jehovah is as a thousand years...as in the case of Adam when God told him he would die the very day he ate of the forbidden fruit...

  So, maybe the evil doer was ressurrected within a day to heaven with Jesus.

  From my recollection of the story the evil doers had already died before they had to pierce Jesus and kill him...And no one could enter heaven before Jesus...

  just got the watchtower feb 15/04.

  this is what it reads : .

  apostates may claim to worship jehovah and to believe the bible, but they reject the visible part of his organization......under divine inspiration, the bible writers used strong words to expose the motives and the methods of apostates.. what is it that apostates want?

  Yea, damn that Simon...He just hog-tied me and made me join this forum and post all the threads I posted.

  Seems to me they do not want to take responsibility for any of the flock leaving the true organization. They disfellowship a third of their members every year and keep them from associating with the other members. That makes for a very welcoming organization now doesn't it?

  To be honest (and I do love so many of them whom I've met over the years) I don't want to draw any one of them away to follow me...hell I can't stand to be around them!!!

  God strike me down for telling the truth about how I feel...

  they will be coming back to my house and interviewing me with the updates on my trial.

  That's really great Vicki...I am so happy for you!!!

  I hope we can see the show here in the US. I emailed your story to one of the newspapers here, I haven't heard anything yet, I know one of the publishers there and have been trying to meet with him to tell him about your story. I hope the 5th estate exposes the ba$tard$ who did this to you and I pray that you won't have to pay the WTBS a penny, if anything they should pay you for damages incurred to you.

  Anyway, I will be looking for the show on this site. And will let you know if I get to meet with the person I mentioned.

  What would you consider to be 'Victory over the Watchtower'?

  i'm not talking about a victory which might include welcome reforms on blood policy, shunning or the handling of abuse allegations.

  what i want to know is what we would consider to be the victory.. it is unlikey in the extreme that the various corporations of the watchtower empire will ever be closed down so, realistically what can we hope for in the long term?

  say 30 - 50 years?.

  Your Favorite Football Team?

  superbowl is around the corner and just wondering how many of you are football fans and who your favorite team is?.

  me, i don't watch football as much as i used to.

  i'm from huntington, wv and the football team there is marshall university "the thundering herd".

  OK...

  Well, I wasjumping for joy when I heard the great news this morning.

  I think Bush could hardly contain himself, that's why he only gave a 4 minute speech.LOL! But, just a side note...don't you think he could memorize or at least extemporaniously speak on such a great grab as this instead of reading verbatim his 4 minute speech!!!

  OMG...well don't get too nervous chachasmum! I ain't puttin my pantyhose (that the elders think grew on women) to go back to the KH anytime soon!!!

  I was actually reading the January 1st, 2004 article, I had read the main article on peace while I was on the train earlier this week, and last night I was just cleaning out my purse and decided to see what the main study article was, when I remembered that this is that once a year article that boasts all the hours everybody spent and how many of the GREAT CROWD there actually are!!!

  But I didn't get very far because I came to a paragraph about how important prayer is and it had a picture of a subserviant wife knealing a head below her husband, I guess while he was saying a prayer that God hears.

  Yeah...I guess I was embarrassed,that I could even contemplate that for one minute they might print something that I didn't have to read between the lines to believe.

  And Gadget...I did read Blondies take on the article about the woman's place in God's organization...she's (he's) right, they do this type of article one to two times a year. Great commentary by Blondie...Yeah!!!
