Hi everyone,
I got laid off Tuesday, the 29th, ten minutes before midnite, right before I was supposed to go home. The nerve of them. I am kind of upset, but know times are hard right now. I got a very paranoid feeling like everything is going to go wrong now, because I am not "doing what's right, not going to the KH, because I have left Jehovah, etc." Has anyone else had these feelings? I love God, I love my neighbor, in fact I have felt closer to a higher being ever since I have left the JWs. This website and hearing others' stories have confirmed my feelings. I am in the process of reading Ray Franz' book, it is tough for me to get through, because of all the emotions I am feeling. Thanks to those I've chatted with in the chat room and those who have replied to my posts.
Hey, I am almost a junior member, by the way!!!

ive basically kept this under wraps in so far as this board is concerned, but ive decided to tell about it because, frankly, im under stress at the moment,am posting (when i post at all) a bit strangely and i wish to explain why im hardly posting, nor am i hardly responding to emails or chat requests from my friends here.
i apologize for the latter.
in a nutshell, my wife is sick, shes been sick a year now and the situation is getting worse.
i'm just a soul whos intentions are good...oh, lord, please don't let me be misunderstood.

Farkel:
WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?

Refiners Fire,
I happen to have fellow feeling for a situation you're in that I have been in for the last 18 years. My twin sister was born with a congenital heart defect. The only hope the doctors have given her is a combined heart and lung transplant, which has only a five year life expectancy if successful. So every day she lives is a gift. And I was just trying to express sorrow for what you are going through. I am outraged by Farkel's comments. And I am sorry that my post caused you any aggrevation by his insensitivity. I wish well for both you and your wife.
Sincerely,
Eisenstein

Hi Refiners Fire,
I am new to this web site, but I've replied to one of your posts, by the way you have some great posts. I feel your concern and pain and I hope the doctors will be able to find something to help your wife. My sister has a congenital heart defect. She has outlived any of the doctors expectations. It was only discovered when she was 17 and found to be irrepairable. It is a daily worry for me, we are so close. I understand your need to withdrawal right now, but I hope in some way you can find comfort from your friends here and talk about your concerns when you feel like it.
Sincerely,
Eisenstein
i know we were taught to study all the wts stuff.
prepare for each meeting, prepare for service, (gotta know the articles) etc.
i mean with all the personal study to do, how could anyone have time for newspapers, novels etc.
I remember one time when one of the elders was having a family study with my mom and my sister and I, the elder got on my mom's case because she didn't underline in her book when she had studied for the study. My mom never liked to underline in the study articles, she had a very good memory and didn't like to mess up the study materials. When my mom first started studying back in 1965 she studied the Babylon the Great book as her personal study with one of the annointed sisters. So she knew her stuff, she just felt it was being disrespectful to write in the books. Anyway, I just remember the elder making such a big deal about her not underlining all of her answers, he thought she really hadn't studied for the material.
As for me, I used to like studying for the meetings, but the guilt that was poured on if perhaps I missed studying one meeting etc. was too much. And lately, before my subscription ran out I would try to read some of the articles, but couldn't help thinking about the hypocrisy.
