I mentioned this in another thread, but the RC stated that they'd already known Jackson was in Australia for a couple weeks.
I can't help but wonder if someone at WTHQ quietly sent them his itinerary a few months back, and that they timed the JW portion of the Commission to coincide with his visit.

My thoughts on Geoffrey Jackson

he's most likely on a plane already.

I'd be shocked if there weren't a few rouges in the Australia branch. Heck we have a ton of them here in the US! -

I would like him to explain how the GB develops their interpretations of the scriptures and why the two witness rule is literal but the stoning is not.
They pick and choose what best fits their agenda. They don't adopt some policies because it was what was accepted at that time and adopt others that fit their agenda that could easily be placed in the category of what worked during that time period.

IF the GB are mere figureheads as some have said, then perhaps indeed Jackson does not really know anything.
Maybe so Londo, but it would be excellent to see him on camera proving that is all he is, a figurehead front for the WT Corporation.
All the literature points to them as the source of all doctrine and direction, if that is so then let's hear him explain the reasoning behind using congregational guidelines for a culture that's 2000 years old.
I don't think they are mere figure heads. There is no way AM III could do what he does. They definitely have a very big influence. I'm not saying there isn't people above them but they defiantly aren't just figure heads. I do think they try to work in new light to fit with the PR and Lawyer portion of the cooperation though. All there new light seems very convenient to distance themselves from these child abuse issues. If he doesn't know anything then the record will be there to show JW's what they're being taught is not founded on truth.
As of "Crisis of a Conscience" they were in charge. He didn't seem to get the notion that there was someone above them except the president. -

Quite often when there's a picture of the Gobbering Body for their meeting Sanderson is the one with the "tech". Have you noticed that?
They are trying to look hip and cool, up with the times! Too bad that laptop looks like it is from the 90's.

I think we can all agree that this has been way bigger than we could have ever imagined. I never dreamed it'd get this big and dirty when I heard they were starting to look into it.
They may need to update their Reasoning on the Scriptures conversation stoppers. "Don't you guys support pedophiles?"
I can see the answer now, "What really is the definition of a pedophile?" Quote some crazy definition that no one has ever heard of. "Now you see, we really don't support pedophiles".

Not surprisingly, Tony The Turd is seated at the head of the conference table.
Presumptuous narcissistic douche bag.
I noticed that too. We have an elder at our hall that will only sit at the head of the table and refuses to sit anywhere else. He's got huge power trip issues. You'd think they'd all sit on the sides so one is not above the other. I think that picture is actually very telling. -

First off, I don't think that dude is going to show face. He's most likely on a plane already. If he shows it's bad PR and if he doesn't show it's bad PR. They'll choose whichever give the least amount of bad press.
I do however, find it odd that he just so happens to show up in Australia for his sick father right when this starts to happen. My guess, he is coaching everything behind the scenes and the FDS wanted a GB member there to make sure everything was being handled as best as possible and to report back to the others right away. The father is a great reason to try and get out of appearing, just like their lawyer attempted to do. He's most likely be behind the scenes attempting to help since the beginning.
Let's pretend he does show though, how do you think he'll handle it? Will he try and speak with authority like they do in their talks. Talking down to people and slapping them over the head with the bible? Or will he be very sheepish and be at a loss for words? My guess is he's going to try to come of with authority in the beginning, using the bible to make an answer whenever possible. Towards the end though, they will corner him and their true colors will come out, he will be at a loss for words. They've never been on the receiving end of a "judicial committee".
I don't think he's going to show though, I'd be very surprised if he does. If he doesn't show, it will give the impression to the commissioner that they don't take this seriously and that they are trying to wiggle out of this whole thing without caring about the kids. Either way, I don't see this ending nicely.
I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Is the Commisioner aware that there are internal rules vs what they are being given?
by thedepressedsoul ini have been following the events taken place in australia and i cannot help but notice that the jw's are feeding them a bunch of bull.
it reminds me of the faq on jw.org.
we all know there is a very different internal view/teaching than the jw.org faq would lead you to believe.

I have been following the events taken place in Australia and I cannot help but notice that the JW's are feeding them a bunch of bull. It reminds me of the FAQ on JW.org. We all know there is a very different internal view/teaching than the jw.org FAQ would lead you to believe.
For instance, they are trying to hide behind that the GB are not at the top and would be of no assistance in this case. Any inside member knows that the GB are the closest thing to Jesus as you can get in their eyes. They make all of the rules, writings and teachings. They also are behind all of the procedures! Yet, JW laywers are down playing their role and are making it sound like they are not behind any of this.
Their lawyers may say they don't discourage from reporting to the police but every internal JW knows it is highly looked down upon for anyone to go to the police for justice vs the organization.
There are so many internal rules it makes me sick! I also find it interesting that a lot of their "new light" recently, they are trying to use it as a mean of protection. The co appointing elders, chain of command, etc...
My question is, does the commission know that there is a completely different set of rules for internal members then they make the public and the commissioner believe? If not, I feel this is our biggest duty, to make them aware things are very different on the inside than they'd like them to believe.

Uh-Oh, JW's are confused by the news reporting... Getting texts from active members
by thedepressedsoul inyou can refer to me as a still in mole.
anyway, i've been getting texts from jw's about the australia news.
the general census is that the jw's are very, very confused.

Also, please keep in mind that your average JW is not going to share this with every JW. It'll most likely be close friends that feel comfortable around one and another. They will be like, "Hey, did you happen to see this on the news?". I don't see this being a service car group conversation, yet. Just wait until people at the door start shoving this down their throat while they're trying to shove the bible down theirs. There will be no good response. -

Even though this is happening in Australia, this is a US religion we are talking about. I think that is why it is getting attention in the US.
JW's have had child molestation issues in the US and is a US based and run religion. I think that's why it's showing up in news over here vs most of the world.
It's begun my friends!
