according to reveal news' website at https://www.revealnews.org/episodes/one-thing-leads-to-another/, "in august, we're is picking up the threads from three major investigations to see whats happened since they aired.
these are stories that moved people, made them angry and sparked change.".
peace be with you and everyone, who you love,.
Andersonsinfo Thank you for posting these links. I don't know how much more can be done but some people on this site are saying that it takes one little chip then another then another.....My words as I can't recall the exact phrase.
The thing is, that all these sexual abuse issues with all religions are to be stopped, made a very dangerous thing to cover up and served to the top men as a dire outcome if they don't get the point..............It's illegal and they can go to prison just like anyone else can.
A lot of people have been kept so quiet by fear or self recriminations,...all along they weren't to blame, they were the hurt ones.....
i just thought i would mention this on the off chance they might be lurking here.
the two quotes are.
(1)vincent toole ="i've never heard of the term 'theocratic warfare'".
OzGirl......I remember that so well, he was so cocky so self assured and confident. I loathed his lying face that day and I still do. The new priesthood is the WTlawyer.
here is a quick breakdown of our conversation (by text message).
me: "have you read about the royal commission?
the org has been covering up child abuse.
Yep that's right Crow. They unashamedly ask one of the poorest countries to donate.
It's here too.
while i'm glad that the practices of the wts are under review and the australian commission is taking them to task, i'm not really expecting huge changes in the long run.
oh, they may have to agree to some changes in how they report crimes brought to elders' attention, but this excitement over the supposed expose of wt practices shall pass, and jws will soon be canvassing neighborhoods and rolling their carts, looking for converts.
conventions will go on.

Also, it already serves as a robust validation of former Witnesses (e.g., Barbara Anderson, Bill Bowen, etc) who have worked tirelessly to articulate genuine concerns about the JW organization's harmful policies and procedures on responding to abuse allegations.
This is a good point and a valuable form of validation for those who have really stuck their necks out. I include those victims who testified in this instance. They were the ones with strong voices of out rage and hurt. The elders and Co were pathetic in contrast to those women.
The voices of those men were croaking, mouths were dry, amnesia was running rampant. It was not a good look for such a religious organization that has gloated over every other religion being called to account in the past. Now, WTdom is just another American made religion born at a time when many others were forming......

My family has an elder, a young elder who was over there the whole time. He was freaking out and at the same time outraged that the RC had dared to have the Shepherding book. Too bad. They had it and there was nothing anyone could do about that.
She was constantly receiving blow by blow accounts. I tell you. All JWs in Australia know ALL about this. What they will do, is pretend they don't know about it to those on the outside who will ask for opinions.

The genie cannot be put back into the bottle. By having these proceedings on youtube, it is forever out there to stumble upon.
And there we have it..... The process of the RC is forever on the internet. People will always be curious. There is good video evidence now available in the public domain.
The WTBTS can order the r@f not to look at them, but really..........curiosity is a big part of our makeup and being ordered not to do this or look at by people who claim such exulted status is not going to stop many from having a "peek". Then another.........I know this commission will not force great change. I just want it there, all ready and served up for future generations to access. WT does not control the internet, only it's own site. Of that I am very glad.
mr. jackson, we have heard testimony from mr spinks and mr. obrien that women will never have leadership positions in the congregation.
as i understand it mr. jackson, you interpret revelation 7 to mean that only 144,000 will go to heaven and that these 144,000 will rule the earth.
i also understand that your organization teaches that women are part of this "remnant" of 144,000. can you explain why jesus christ is willing to put women in leadership over the entire earth but you are not willing to permit them to have anything to do with helping victims of pedophiles in your congregation?
The thing is. This Commission isn't really about actual beliefs.........that is, unless those beliefs hurt children and suppress the women.
Questions like that are quite the focus of this commission. I wish they had a stronger look at the financials too.
As of now, so many people are saying he just won't turn up on this and other forums. I wonder, why do so many feel this way?
Imagine how the abused ones feel at the thought of not getting the disclosure of all the societies rotten actions brought out into the light of day?
Perhaps I am naive in hoping this testimony/question time will happen and that some revelations are made apparent to all who are able to take actions.
