mr. jackson, we have heard testimony from mr spinks and mr. obrien that women will never have leadership positions in the congregation.

as i understand it mr. jackson, you interpret revelation 7 to mean that only 144,000 will go to heaven and that these 144,000 will rule the earth.

i also understand that your organization teaches that women are part of this "remnant" of 144,000. can you explain why jesus christ is willing to put women in leadership over the entire earth but you are not willing to permit them to have anything to do with helping victims of pedophiles in your congregation?

The thing is. This Commission isn't really about actual beliefs.........that is, unless those beliefs hurt children and suppress the women.

Questions like that are quite the focus of this commission. I wish they had a stronger look at the financials too.

As of now, so many people are saying he just won't turn up on this and other forums. I wonder, why do so many feel this way?

Imagine how the abused ones feel at the thought of not getting the disclosure of all the societies rotten actions brought out into the light of day?

Perhaps I am naive in hoping this testimony/question time will happen and that some revelations are made apparent to all who are able to take actions.

The questions and information that have been sent in by people have not been ignored. The commission took some good information leads and came to understand the GBs power, the Theo ...Warfare.....

There is no "anticipation word". If he doesn't front. the shit will hit the fan.....

You know what? I'm going to remain as neutral in my thinking as possible, because I have found that so much was revealed in this RC. His Honour and Stewart were so savvy, and caught the glib mouthed elders, lawyers et ale... in lies and deceptions time and again.

I underestimated the strength of Stewart for a few minutes there...........then I realized this was a huge team of over 300 staff involved in the RC into WTower practices and it was all flooding out. I have to have some faith about the capacity of this RC to override the diversions and half truths.

What I am saying is..............I am going to pump all my good thoughts toward this RC and those who will question. If Jackson doesn't turn up, he will be in deep deep legal trouble. We have extradition agreements between America and Australia.

Oh........huge sigh! Less tightness in chest.............a bit less stress.............

Thank god!!! I was so worried that WT sliminess would prevail and he would get away.

I think this is one of the best outcomes I could ever have imagined. I know it will mean so much for so many. I don't expect a miracle but I hope they grill him and grill relentlessly until he is forced into telling the bloody truth. Or.......he lies and lies and they let him lie, then they give him some nice documents that fly right in the face of his/their, deceptions.

That funny little prayer I found on that small site was right after all.

in the posts about the australian royal commission there have been several references to discussions on jw-archive.

i'd not heard of that site, so checked it out.

it seems to be used by many active jws - its tumblr style archive is full of pictures of jws doing their thing.

I love these comments. All of you are as mad as hatters and smart at the same time.

Just spoke with my D associated sis, she is still very defensive of this religion. The discussion was just plain tense, so tense and I know it's because she might still believe that this is the truth and this is a worldly Satanic attack on the society.

Never had such a tense discussion like that before in a long time. Her daughter is a full in JW along with her husband.

So, you never know how anyone is going to respond to unflattering revelations about WTland.

while the australian royal commission may be the focus of our attention at the moment, we should not forget that this is a much wider problem.

previous official investigations in australia (inquiring into church run homes for kids)have revealed horrible examples of abuse, as have similar investigations in canada and ireland.. and international news today reports on this mass incident in pakistan.

and if some may want to see this as a muslim problem, then please do a search and find that similar things happen in india.. the hongkong based asia times reports:.

Wow fulltimestudent. That would be something to read. And yes, there is this global problem of abuse of many kinds toward children.

I have always known this. The RC in this instance is useful to many who truly believed in the doctrines they were taught and the wonderful spin of the WTBTS.

In this specific RC it was to have a damned good look at a religion that claims charity status. I found a letter sent to WT Australian on the RC site, and it clearly states how to turn certain funds into............only a donation. This was in order to get around some potential problems facing WT over here. Went a bit off track there. The main thing is that we all know of this problem, it's just a bit hard to take from any religion claiming to have the knowledge and means to assist others to spiritual wellness, or everlasting life.

Royal Commission... Monty Baker?

i see a former elder by the name of monty baker on the royal commission's witness list.

transcripts show a lawyer representing monty baker during the hearings, but so far i see no transcript where monty baker has testified before the commission.

am i missing something?

You will notice then as you listen in, that his testimony wasn't much to sing about.

To me he sounded as though he was WT mentally in, or there was some need to not reveal a whole lot of useful information. I would like to know what others thought of is this none event.

Maybe I am missing something too

pray for brother jackson of the governing body!.

in todays news from australia it appears that, despite his previous declination to appear when invited, justice mcclellan from the australian royal commission on child sex abuse will officially summon brother geoffrey jackson to the stand after all.. ..... the commission was due to conclude its hearings into the jehovahs witnesses on wednesday but justice mcclellan said he will now call geoffrey jackson, a senior member of the churchs governing body in new york who is currently in australia, to appear next week.. .

I hope it happens, then feel a sick feeling that GJackson, GB member, will find some way out of it. Most people have been of the opinion that this will not happen.

All I do is hope that the small post I found, was indeed true. That he will be before the RC and some serious problems can be addressed.
