  It would indicated that helpfullness is hardwired into humans (toddlers).

  If this is hardwired why do not all humans do this naturally?

  It is easy for morals to evolve from a base such as that. As well, empathy may be hardwired.

  I believe the same applies here.

  Further, the human desire for an ordered society brings civil law into existence. ; These laws are loosely equated in the human mind ;to morals/moral standards.

  I see you arguement, but if there is no consequence, or if we really dont have to answer to anything or anyone for moral misbehavior. I mean so what if I sleep with your wife, who do I have to answer to?

  An "ordered society" is a bit of a loose term. History has not revealed civil order by a long shot.

  Last king of the north - Russia

  from the 2005 cdrom there are plenty of references to russia being the king of the north.

  this starts, as far as i found, at least as early as 1960. what is more difficult to locate are articles that imply that russia is the last kofn.

  if anyone has any handy please paste them.

  What? Bible based, yeah right.These idiots have been doing the speculating since the beggining with the counting of the blocks in the pyramids. Maybe Scholar has some insight on why the society is not gotten anything right in history of speculating. See also Luke 21:8.

  as an ex-jw.. for those of you who are wondering if there is life beyond the wtbts -.

  yes, there is.. a very fulfilling, exciting, satisfying life.. i am now a store manager candidate for a national pharmacy chain - will have my own store within 6 months - .

  my grandson is beautiful and both my children are in constant contact.. i will be getting married to a wonderful man in a few months - and.

  What a Hummingbird Taught Me About God

  last year, i put out a bird feeder and filled it with seed.

  i would frequently watch birds come and go while making breakfast.. during early summer, i passed by the window and spotted a hummingbird hovering near the seed filled feeder, looking around.

  as if to say, "where's mine?"..

  I hear ya Metatron,

  And from nature I see wonders as you mention. An atheist that I will not mention by name stated here recently, words to the effect that this life is purposeless. But what really gets to the core of my being re: this life, is the love that is manifested towards others esspecially my wife and kids.

  So if I am to subscribe to the thought of purposeless life, then why the love and why the caring of fellow man? Naturally speaking. And why the evololution of moral standards?

  Page 99 is pretty good also:

  within the coming twenty-six years all present governments will be overthrown and dissolved; but we are living in a special and peculiar time, the "Day of Jehovah," in which matters culminate quickly; and it is written, "A short work will the Lord make upon the earth." (See Vol. I, chap. xv.) For the past eleven years these things have been preached and published substantially as set forth above; and in that brief time the development of influences and agencies for the undermining and overthrow of the strongest empires of earth has been wonderful. In that time Communism, Socialism and Nihilism sprang into vigorous existence, and already are causing great uneasiness among the rulers and high ones of earth, whose hearts are failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth; for the present powers are being mightily shaken, and ultimately shall pass away with a great tumult.

  In view of this strong Bible evidence concerning the Times of the Gentiles, we consider it an established truth that the final end of the kingdoms of this world, and the full establishment of the Kingdom of God, will be accomplished near the end of A.D. 1915. Then the prayer of the Church, ever since her Lord took his departure--"Thy Kingdom come"--will be answered; and under that wise and just administration, the whole earth will be filled with the glory of the Lord--with knowledge, and righteousness, and peace (`Psa. 72:19`; `Isa. 6:3`; `Hab. 2:14`); and the will of God shall be done "on earth, as it is done in heaven."

  Daniel's statement, that God's Kingdom will be set up, not after these kingdoms of earth are dissolved, but in their days, while they still exist and have power, and that it is God's Kingdom which shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms (`Dan. 2:44`), is worthy of our special consideration
