i have read that thousands of babylonian business records exist on clay tablets, and that these alone provide proof that the year 607bce is not what the watchtower claims it is.. since business is conducted on a day to day basis, these records should provide a continuous record of each babylonian kings reign.

Scholar: You ask about the missing twenty years. This period of twenty years is a problem for secular chronologists and to date they cannot find them. WT scholars are not disturbed by this problem because Bible chronology pays scant attention to such materials in reconstructing a useful and validated chronology

upon arriving i ran into lots of old friends and really enjoyed seeing everyone and visiting.

they dont know that im currently struggling with doubts about the organization and they think that im the same old zealous brother.

i couldnt help but feel a sence of guilt visiting with them about our current number of publishers and how many we had pioneering ect.

Alleymom, good to hear from you again.

Because the Babylonian business records are dated to day, month, and year of the reigning king, they establish the relative chronology (the lists of kings with their regnal lengths) of the neo-Babylonian empire. We know who the kings were and how long they reigned.
And if you start with 539 BCE --- which the Society says is an absolute date --- and count backwards through each year of each king (as I showed in a chart in the KISS thread), you will find that the Society's chronology is too long by 20 years.

As always excellent point. Scholar has nowhere to go. His arguement has truely become laughable. At least you'd think he would try to give some sorta kings list. This has proven to be his Achilles heal.

i agreed and we talked at some length about it, but one thing i decided, god was not fair.

I appreciate your response, However, being raised as a dub, is what drove me to want answers.

We do know how to teach people to sort the evidence for their beliefs. Unfortunately, we still don't really prioritize teaching that, as religions would not likely exist anymore, and we can't have that, now can we?

I disagree, there are many personal testimonies which are, at least in my case inexplicable. And religion has nothing to do with my faith.
