"Reading the Awake is equivalent to a college education did you not know?" No wonder I’m stuck in a dead end job with no prospect of an actual career. I never took full advantage of the education that the WBTS offered me in the form of this, do it your self-college degree at home that we all know as the Awake magazine. Foolish me!

I never thought before about the irony of those interesting articles on nature, used to prove we have a creator. Ot course, in the "new system" all the animals will loose their meat eating teeth, camoflage, poison spines, defense mechanisms, predatory skills, and completely new food chains will form based on... corn flakes or something like that.

This is the Society's way of preparing JWs to ignore Satan's newspapers that speak ill of the Witnesses,.

They will have no other choice but to impose greater and greater restrictions on what the R+F can read and watch. At some level, they must realize their efforts are in vain.

I would imagine Nathan Knorr never predicted the coming "information age" and how the a medium like the internet could eventually bring down his corporation. Look at all the newbies on this site......they have already lost the battle.

Actually, this Awake article is discussing the dangers of CHAT ROOMS and most of it is great advice to keep kids safe. There is, however, a section on 'Moral Corruption' which talks about apostates posing as JWs and are 'rocks beneath the water' to try and shipwreck youths' faith. This part on p.18 I found odd:

"This journal, as well as other material produced by Jehovah's Witnesses, has repeatedly warned of this particular danger.* [*See Awake! of December 8, 2004, pages 18-21] Therefore, anyone you meet in a chat room ostensibly set up for Jehovah's Witnesses is, at best, a person who disregards such counsel. Do you really want as friends those who choose to downplay Bible-based direction? - Proverbs 3:5,6; 15:5"

'Odd' because the Awake of December 2004 was warning about internet addiction, porn sites and sexual predators/pedophiles. It wasn't warning of apostates in chat rooms - I can't see any mention of apostates in that article! And the texts cited above in Proverbs are about taking notice of Jehovah and a father's discipline. Therefore, the sharp slap on the wrist about 'disregarding such counsel' is given without any warrant!

    That should be interesting.

I got to get an October Awake. I'm dying to read that article. Ha, Ha, Ha !!

Edited to add:...Or, maybe car radios. They'll order all j.w.'s to have their car radio's removed, so they won't hear any talk shows about the Watchtower Publishing Company, while they are out in service.
