Wow Andi! It's easy to see where you get your looks from, your mom is as beautiful as you are. Very nice pictures, I'm glad you posted them so everyone could see them. I think Asian women are so gorgeous!

In Japan it is common for people to investigate the families of a potential fiance. It's a big business over there. They document everything quite well, and I'll bet that once you decide to search you might be surprised at how fast it could be done, if she is actually from the town you think...
Was she married in Japan? We were, and we had to go to the consulate. (We were both foreigners to Japan, however.) They keep copies of marriage documents, too.

I miss having a mother daughter relationship.. I know I had one longer than you did.. but I know what it is like to see mothers and daughters and wish I had my mom in my life.. Part of our life.. she was dfd.. and so I didn't associate with her.. now I'm out.. so she won't associate with me.. its hard sometimes..
I just hope you can find your mom and have a future with her

bebu, that's so good to hear. Thank you for sharing your insight since I remember you said you lived there! I have read and heard that the Japanese government is actually VERY good at organizing and keeping documents about everyone, foreigners or not. My mother came from a fairly large family - she was the youngest I think of 9 children. So if I don't find her there in that city, then at least I will find her siblings or neices and nephews and perhaps cousins. I am feeling pretty positive about things for the first time in a long time. Do you know if there are any English written phone books I could acquire for the city of Kushiro?
