Out of the mouths of babes

    Put it another way

Killing is abhorrent to humans. It is against our nature, so we created jehovah to take the responsibility of killing from us. It's our dark side that we cannot face, so god does it not us....

the god who supposely gave it commanded his own people to KILL.

Can you give me Scriptures on that please lol! been trying to find it

Remember the story of Jericho where God, in all his love, told the Israelites to tear down its walls and massacre the entire city?

God doesn't punish innocent people, what are you referring to here?

I guess that depends on how you define innocent. I'd consider the murder of the first born of Egypt, even infants, to be punishing the innocent. I'd also consider killing everyone on earth, men, women, and children, with a giant flood punishing the innocent. What about the children of Sodom and Gomorrah? What about Lot's wife? The poor woman was probably panic stricken and glanced at the city with a reflex action, and merciful Jehovah turned her into a condiment.

I'm sure that God has a different definition of innocent, but I don't agree with it myself.

OK - heres one I always thought was bang out of order:

    Genesis 34 : 1 - 29

1: "Now Dinah the daughter of Leah, whom she had borne to Jacob, used to go out and see the daughters of the land. 2. And She'chem the son of Hamor the Hi'vite, a cheiftain of the land, got to see her nad then took her and lay down with her and violated her."

25: "However, it came about that on the third day, when they got to be aching, the two sons of Jacob, Sim'eon and Le'vi, brothers of Dinah, proceeded to take each one his sword and to go unsuspectingly to the city and to kill every male."

I dont know about you, but at a guess I'd say every male in the city was innocent, given that it was only She'chem that got his leg over with Dinah. This ridiculous over kill for one act of fornication has NEVER been denounced by the JW's - OH NO theyre too busy telling us what a wicked whore Dinah was and that we should never emulate her. What about the blood thirsty murdering brothers??

    Heres another one:

    Genesis 19 : 1 - 29

24: "Then Jehovah made it rain sulphur and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens, upon Sod'om and upon Gomor'rah. 25 So he went ahead overthrowing these cities, even the entire District and all the inhabitants of the cities and the plants of the ground."

Now realistically, lets imagine you think homosexuality is wrong (you may or may not, I dont care which). You might think certain places are filled with homosexuals and therefore deserve destruction - for instance South Beach in Miami, or Key West. But do you REALLY think every single peson in that area AND the outlying district AND all the plants need destroying too?? Isnt that phenomonally simplistic?? Society has not changed, people are the same. Even given you might think you want to destroy Soho in London because its full of porn shops you have to acknowlege the strong probability that there are innocent people living there too.

    GOD DESTROYS INNOCENT PEOPLE.

Good post, Katiekitten. I always wondered about that myself, along with the story of Lot who instead of giving the two angels over to the homosexual males in his city, he instead offered his daughters. What the hell was that about? How can than even be justified? Maybe someone can explain the biblical principle and the JW's explanation for it, because I asked the JW's but never got an answer other than homosexuality is wrong. What about daughters to be raped? I may have gotten the account wrong and may be thinking of some other person than Lot; if that's the case, I'm sure someone will let me know.

    Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

    REALITY CHECK! REALITY CHECK!

Stop and ask yourself how likely, how possible, how feasible it would be for two people to KILL EVERY MALE in a city???

    This is pure crap.

How can anybody shut their brain off and accept this nonsense as even possible?

    Use your brain and THINK!

(I'm not directing this at Katie Kitten; but, rather to those who read the Bible and believe any of it.)

Even so - the witnesses still have the wrong emphasis - they are so busy with their mysoginist agenda they dont even analyse the bit about the brothers and their supposed killing - they focus on Dinah and her wicked ways to the exclusion of anything else.

And the fact that I NEVER EVEN thought about how two men could kill all the males in the city before shows how EFFECTIVE their anti-Dinah propoganda was! (how embarrassing )
