This sounds like Velikovsky and the "low chronology" trying to excise 300 years from Egyptian history, or JCanon trying to delete 100 years or so from the Persian period.

I have heard this theory before. I never knew what the theory said regarding the motive, and the article's explanation is still a bit murky to me. (Of course they do mention a possible Freemason conspiracy. shhhh)
Anyway, I wonder what the WTS would say if mainstream science accepted this theory. Not only is Armageddon overdue after 1975, it would now be more than 300 years overdue!
