    Norm,

I never notice that these rulemakers of the Wt are completely deviod of logical thought beyond a very confining narrow spectum.

That really makes me angry. What a bunch of bull. So, a husband or wife could go off and have an affair with someone of the same sex or screw a monkey and that wouldn't be enough to give the innocent mate grounds for a scriptural divorce. Ugh...that's insane. Guess its on par with allowing a husband to beat his wife (or visa versa) and that not being adequate to 86 the marriage...at least if you want to remarry. Dumb jackasses.

This always makes me laugh: So from February '72 until December, if some poor unsuspecting wife came home and caught her husband in a torrid threesome with another guy and goat, she would have no scriptural out.

(And Freddie once testified in court that Joe Hobah was the editor of the Watchtower. Good ole Joe should really take some time and make up his mind before he puts it in print.)

The WTBTS go into such detail that the sheep are led to believe that way for a while, then they come back again with a new idea with ALL the detail again, detail detail detail.

The so called sis and bro DO NOT READ IT, they just hear from another sis or bro THE NEW LIGHT and AGREE.

Also the reason that they go into such DETAIL is because they know that the sheep will not read it and just snipits from one another and JUST AGREE.

    Hi NeonMadman

I am afraid they have most of their insanities from the Bible even though they some times come up with their own. They still have this divorce rule which they undeniably get from the Bible, just read:

In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus Christ said: “Everyone divorcing his wife, except on account of fornication, makes her a subject for adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.” (Matt. 5:32) On a later occasion he told the Pharisees: “Whoever divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication, and marries another commits adultery.”—Matt. 19:9.

They are not the only Christian organization to observe this rule. The Bible is every bit as bad as the WTS. Every sect that takes the Bible really serious and actually try to live by what is written there ends up as insane fundamentalists.

Can't speak for the rest of youse blokes but down here there is only one accepted reason for breaking the sacred vows & time honored bonds of holy matrimony .. english blow job or not there is only one legal justification/excuse for divorce - marriage.

cynical ol' bastard bruce .. testing ... ps: I sometimes get the feeling the bible was written by a bunch of sad miserable freaks short on fun and long on jealosy & vengence.

And basically, that's the only divorce rule in the Bible (though you could make a good case for abandonment based on Paul's comments). The Bible doesn't parse it down to things like bestiality and homosexuality not being grounds for divorce, or having "scriptural grounds" for separation (that are somehow nowhere to be found in the Bible) that still don't allow for a full divorce. All of that is the contrivance of the Governing Body. And it's those man-made rules that have been so troubling for the rank and file JW's. The scriptural rule that you refer to has been the foundation of marriage for millenia: marriage is sacred and to be broken only in the case of infidelity. There's nothing "insane" about that, though it seems to have fallen by the wayside these days in most countries.

Every sect that takes the ;Bible really serious and actually try to live by ;what is ;written there ends up as insane ;fundamentalists.

That is a truly sweeping generalization. You are suggesting that every religious group that attempts to follow the Bible is insane? Is that attitude any better than that of a believer who smugly declares that all atheists are idiots? Many Christian believers live happy, productive lives, doing good for their fellow man to the best of their ability. It's simply wrong to label people like that as "insane" because you disagree with the source of their beliefs.

    Hello NeonMadman,

    You said:

Indeed there is, and that's only because they completely ignore 90% of the icredible insane nonsense the Bible spew.
