: . . . but the word on the street down here in " Paradise " is that it will never happen because the officials are in bed with the real estate and tourist opportunists.

    Shades of Jaws.

Sharks rarely pose a danger to humans. But humans do pose a danger to sharks!

We're taking face-to-face encounters. Most humans swiming off the beach have no way to hurt a shark., regardles of its sub-species. Fishing industry does hurt them.

Danger fully depends on the kind of shark swiming by, and you must know that well. Would you swim with a Bull-shark or a Great White? ..... I thought so...

There are over 340 known types of shark, 32 of these species have been reported as attacking humans. Forensics say those were Bull-sharks attacking kids in Florida. By the way, Bull-sharks have been cought as far up the Mississipi river as Illinois.

In the new system sharks will only eat seaweed and we can all swim safely.

"The most dangerous shark is arguably the great white, a large, aggressive predator. The second-most dangerous in U.S. waters is likely the bull shark, a large (up to 12 feet), aggressive animal that is the only shark species to regularly enter fresh water, traveling up the Mississippi River as far as the Ohio River. A third dangerous species is the tiger shark (Tintorera), which can grow to 20 feet. Tiger sharks sometimes eat people, whereas other species seem to attack humans primarily when mistaking them for typical prey, such as sea lions." http://www.npca.org/marine_and_coastal/marine_wildlife/avoid_attack.asp
