On a website I once read that AIDS is not a viral disease at all but a wrecking of the body caused by subtances extensively used by homosexual men.

Yes there are scientists that seriously doubt whether a causing virus was ever really detected in AIDS victims but it does sound outlandish.

Still it's strange that in Africa such high percentages of people got infected even if very promiscuous.

BTW - I study, in my private time, Naturopathy, nutrition, herbology and allopathic medicine to round off my holistic approach. My best friend of 23 years is a brilliant surgeon and we are always exchanging info at rapid rate. It is almost comical. Gabie describes it as - "Plug in David, plug in Stephen, download David brain to Stephen, upload Stephen brain to David. Lets drink."

In nature, there are species who harbor viruses but who are not harmed by it. It seems they're still searching for the host of ebola virus. The monkeys got it from wherever you can pick up viruses. When a virus is not in outbreak in humans, it's living in some host that is not being harmed by it.

Greendawn - you are referring to Amyl Nitrate - known as "poppers" and yes, it is an immuno suppressant and has been known to cause immune deficiency. But starvation, malnutrition and successive courses of antibiotics are also immuno suppressants.

To what extend they believe it damages the immune system I can't recall.

ROFL Stephen! Most of your post zoomed right over my head. I said that's what I thought, but I don't know much more. Except that lesbians don't get it from their sexual activity, because there's in inherent possibility of injury. But I know nothing about "cold-strain" viruses.

Could it be that simian monkey strains travel to us is that they're our closest relatives?
