Jehovah's Witnesses, through the agency of the Watchtower magazine, have created an alternative and imaginary universe.
The real world can be abandoned.
No charity is necessary in the alternate world. No colleges need be built, no higher education absorbed, no daycare facilities or retirement homes erected. No hospitals are built with alternative bloodless surgery units either because martyrs are good publicity for "faithfulness".
In the Watchtower World there are no 401 K plans, no health insurance and no benefits for the here and now because a rescue squad of invisible friends, superheroes, will appear at the last possible second and make everything Okay.
The Watchtower has publicly proclaimed the TRUTH that Jesus returned in 1884. It also proclaimed the TRUTH that he returned again and again. In 1914 his return set up an earthly government and he appointed a Brooklyn agency to administer his affairs. Jesus and his father, Jehovah, are the editors of the Watchtower magazine. How do we know? Because each time the Watchtower has printed something silly or erroneous in their names both Jesus and Jehovah were kind enough to allow them to do a "take back" and print another newer (brighter) error in place of the first one. Only a perfect editor would do this.
The Jehovah's Witnesses around the planet have shown how ordinary kind, decent and honest people will spend their lives in mindless drudgery and boring insignificance if told a story that results in no hell and a paradse Earth. These simple and honest-hearted souls will turn a cold shoulder to their children, spouses and other family members in an instant if instructed to do so. Why? They have been given a Watchtower guarantee this will increase their odds of surviving in the Armageddon casino where they gamble for life.
The alternate universe of the Watchtower is impervious to logic, history or science. It is so stalwart it is allowed to quote references out of context, translate scriptures without scholars and hypnotise its constituency with slogans that paralyze them.
They are clean people. They are happy people. They don't have dysfunctional marriages or rebellious children, nor do they live in poverty and overwork and the endless burdens of pleasing the local elders with their ceaseless devotions. (That is, in their CONSCIOUS MINDS, they don't. They CHOOSE not to acknowledge these conditions. So, the conditions don't exist.)
Everything is beautiful; even when it is ugly.
Your child can die from lack of proper medical treatment in the happy world of the Watchtower because the ancient Laws of the Sons of Noah can be mistakenly applied to blood transfusions instead of the proper historical meaning of no blooshed. No big deal. You'll bring courage and honor to your cache of brownie points this way. Thanks to the Watchtower.
Everything is peaceful; even when it is chaotic.
Everything is sensible; even when it is illogical and puzzling.
You'll get a wonderful education from the Watchtower. The most important lesson you will learn as the seconds of your life tick away in apathy and repetitious rituals of obedience is that the most important thing is to learn to WAIT UPON JEHOVAH.
