Your belief after leaving JW

I'm agnostic. After having tried some other beliefs, I came to the conclusion there is no God and will hold to that belief unless He or She personally tells me otherwise. If there is one, then I don't want to take up too much of His/Her time, so just a simple conversation in a loud voice from the heavens will do. I don't need any big miracles from Him/Her as proof. Save the parting of the sea, sun standing still, or burning bushes for the really skeptical ones here.

This may sound blasphemous, but I really mean it. If there is a God and the Almighty who chooses not to reveal themself to me, I won't be offended. I am also sure He or She understands why I feel this way and will forgive me for my serious lack of faith.

    To Tammy:

Now is the time to get to know your Creator.

    Now. NOW!

God Almighty created you. You have feelings -- a soul. Jesus is knocking on your door.

Find out who Jesus is. He wants you to know Him then you'll understand.

    Peace.

That's exactly the point. I learned more about Jesus once I was an xJW than when I was one. I follow many of his examples. The golden rule. Don't judge people. But Jesus is not knocking at my door. Jesus died 2000 years ago. Nobody has heard from him since. If he actually knocks at my door and answers my questions, I'll do whatever he wants me to. Until then, he is just a very good man who had some wise teachings. Tammy

our fallen, sinful and depraved nature can never keep the laws of God or of any religion perfectly. We can suppress our wicked desires for a while but we cannot annihilate them -

lol, you sure you're not a JW?

Religious beliefs? I have none, and don't feel the need for them. There is no hole in my heart that needs to be filled by a belief system and I have no desire to worship a divine entity.

This sums up exactly how I feel! I just got married about two weeks ago and I had a civil ceremony -- my husband wrote the ceremony and it moved me to tears. No mention of god or how he is even needed in a marriage.

    Dear Tammy,

Many people have the wrong idea of who Christ is and why He came to earth. This keeps them from really knowing, not only Jesus Christ, but the Father as well. While He was on earth, Jesus answered some of them:

"Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also" (John 8:19).
