no, i always thought that as long as i showed love, that joe hoba would take care of the lack thereof at arnie-gedon. what really got me in the end regarding love, was realizing that god was not loving like i had been taught to believe (see: OT).

Evil mentions an interesting point. We often have a series of issues and shots taken at us until one day something clicks and we say, "What's the use?" . This is where my mom is. She realizes that dragging and forcing herself to the meetings does her no good.

But love is the message of the New Testament, and the JW I am studying with has confirmed to me that the New Testamant is not for Jehovahs Witnesses (except the handful claiming to be of the anointed class).

So New Testament love stopped applying to JWs in 1935 when Rutherford sold the last ticket (serial no. 144,000) for entry to heaven.

And silly old me thought the Good News was the New Covenant. Well it was until 1935 when the last ticket was claimed.

I always felt it was an-every-man-for-himself situation when I was there. There was always that nagging loneliness, like I was floating on a life raft in the middle of the ocean. You were essentially on your own. Even though they said you were in a brotherhood in my heart I never felt or believed that.

I remember one day years ago after a Sunday meeting when everybody was talking. I was standing at my seat getting my stuff together and I looked around. I felt a stab of loneliness and wanted to cry.

Finding love there is like looking for water in the desert. It is there but you have to dig in the right place.
