When still JWs, friends and I would joke about making up our own religion: The Latter Day Synagogue of Trinitatian Bhudists.
If people did start "making up" religions and earning the charitable donations, they could use them for actual community support. Wow, so simple.
It might also be fun to imitate the Baptists, and make breakaway factions/sects with ever more convoluted names: The latter day synagogue of trinitarian bhudist Taoists.
