A big "Thank You" from Ozzie!

    "BLISS! It's Bliss for you."

A handphone was given to me and it was Bliss calling to pass on the
names of all those who had expressed concern and sent get well greetings.
It was SO much appreciated. There I was in ICU not really knowing what
time of day it was. All I knew was that I was alive, I was in pain, I
didn't know where they had cut me, I just knew my brain hurt, I knew my
heart was mighty sore and I was uncomfortable being restrained by all
sorts of monitors. In front of me sat the unit manager on a computer
stool and before him was a computer which seemed to be giving him all the
instructions - or maybe he just liked playing computer games, eh? Hell,
that computer even did my blood pressue readings automatically. A real
    squeeze.

I have since moved into a surgical ward and feeling dreadfully weak and
time to recount the past couple of weeks. Going back to the
    beginning....

After a multitude of tests Mrs Ozzie and I were confronted with a
fateful decision, I knew I was ill and it would only get worse but would we or wouldn't we take the risk of an operation that
carried with it the risk of irreparably damaging either my heart or the
main vein to the heart or even both as well as possible damage to the
brain. The neurosurgeon warned that in such an event, they wouldn't be
able to save me and he suggested I come home for a day to quietly make
my decision and get my affairs in order. When Mrs Ozzie asked me for my
decision it seemed there was no alternative for if I declined surgery
now, I would still have to face it in later times (a while the surgeon
called it) and then the condition may have gotten still worse, so we
arrived back at hospital and said "OK, let's do it." Quickly a cardiology
team of surgeons met up with the neurosurgeons and gave their approval to
proceed. More tests and the fateful day arrived.

I had spent the previous hours in reading passages from the Bible
including my favorite, Romans 8, and in prayer. I was ready.

Happily children appeared from all parts of the globe (many of you will
understand that that was very special) to give support to their mother.
Our minister came and spoke with them and stayed with them the whole
day in the hospital - the operation took a long time apparently- so we
    had much support.

When I awoke in Recovery Room I felt quite surprised "Struth", I thought,
"I made it!" When the neurosurgeon approached he simply punched the air
with clenched fist, "Yes, yes!" he exclaimed, such was his jubilation. A
    great team of doctors.

Then off to ICU and that phone call from Bliss with all your prayers
    and best wishes.

    Thanks a bunch.

Now to just get better and stronger. I will try to get back to the
board as soon as, but for now please accept my thanks.

    Cheers, Ozzie
