I met the man who is now my husband on the internet in 1999. I also have some good friends I have talked to for years on a message board. Then, I recently met some great moms to hang out with on meetup.com.
It is tons easier for me to get to know someone on the computer and start talking to them than in person.

I have great affection for many on this board that I haven't met "in person". But I get the feeling that most here would be the kind of friend one could depend on, especially without having the WT regulate who they can or cannot have for friends.

I met one of the best friends I've ever had, or ever will, on AOL in 1995. He became a 'big brother' to me and helped me grow into the person I was meant to be. We chatted online at least three times a week, up until his death in 2000.CountryGuy
