If you look at what John said in earlier writings it's pretty clear he talks about the spiritually impure as being harlots where as those that are faithful and true being the virgins . The harlot in revelation also wears purple and scarlet clothing and the catholic church uses those colors as their official colors . HMMMMMMMMM interesting eh .....................
