There is an elder at my hall that was removed last week.

He was not DF, he still is in good standing. He did not request it.

How can an elder be removed?

    What is the process?

    thanks

I think its because he is not a liar!

He is there to help others!

He has love for his fellow brother!

    He is Honest!

I think those are the reasons!

It could be that he didn't maintain his hour quota, or some other minor infraction.

Are you sure he didn't voluntarily step down? When an elder or ministerial servant steps down, they usually announce that he is "deleted", which sounds rather derogatory, but is intended to be neutral.

    There are numerous reasons.

If he didn't request it and he wasn't reproved it could be as simple as him not reporting enough hours in field service. (Note that I said 'reporting' not actually spending that much time 'cause most elders fudge thier time sheets).

It could be that he had an unruly teenage child causing trouble and since he's not residing over his household in a fine manner (god how did I remember that) then he would not be eligible for serving.

It could be more sinister. He could be questioning or having doubts and though they don't have enough to DA him completely he could be removed from serving in a teaching capacity.

The list could go on forever...

He did not step down voluntarily. I talked to his wife today.

What I understand is the body of elders requested it.

His hours are up....he conducted the book study........he does not drink.....no porn.........no affair

From my observation, this is like a Ray Franz thing.

My dad was removed......he said it was my fault.

I wasn't doing what I was supposed to...so he got removed.

I felt bad about it for a long time. Now I believe there must have been more to the story.

maybe he was fighting on behalf of someone being unjustly treated by a j.c.....he would be questioning the body and causing divisions.....i know cos it happened to an elder fighting for me....bastards

Elders can be removed but not otherwise disiplined for a number of reasons. I knew of the following.

    1. Acused of abuse by wife, he later, much later was dfed for it.

    2. Did not properly secure confidential files ( his teenage stepdaughter got into them).

Good point...get a good guy elder who doesn't play by the good ole boys rules and he's outed pretty quick. I've seen it happen too.
