Was following Mary's thread on the Wt study of the annual report - what a hoot!
In follow-up; For years we have heard that the org's growth was 'proof' of the 'truth'. Do you think the org will come up with some obsure scriptural/prophetic understanding to explain the reduced zeal for the 'kingdom' now? Somehow showing that this failure to grow is scriptural and marking the end as imminent?

Maybe they'll use that "falling away" type scripture in this context. It kind of contradicts with "our numbers are growing because we are blessed by Jehovah" line.
They will probably say that Jehovahs work is nearly done and that they should work ever harder to bring in those who are interested sell more books and hopefully bring about the end to this system quicker....the sad thing is...people will believe it.

I've heard "the love of the greater number will cool off" more from fellow dubs this year than ever before. Its funny the look you get when you say in reply "well, it cant be both ways, either growth is a sign of Jahs favor or its not"
The prophecy says the love will cool off, not go completely cold and dead.

What comes to mind is this:
(Matthew 7:15-18) 15
"Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU in sheep?s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruits YOU will recognize them. Never do people gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles, do they? 17 Likewise every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit; 18 a good tree cannot bear worthless fruit, neither can a rotten tree produce fine fruit.
Elsewhere -
That prophecy may be seeing actual fulfillment in the decline or the org [that is it is a rotten tree] - do you mean they will try to apply this to the slowing growth of the organization, as in the 'sifting' of the fruitage?

Yes! That's why they say "the light keeps getting brighter"!
The NEW changes are how they prove they are God's channel after all...(shaking my head as I type this)
