My mother would say that she has met someone who she dispised right off the bat. He was my boyfriend in the past. She used to tell me politely (and at times, not so politely) she didn't like him at all. So, I did what any girl at 19 would do to rebel against her better judgement, I married him.
Footnote: We divorced 7 years ago after having 2 children.
Moral of the story: Be careful what you say and how you say it... you might be at risk of turning her into the forbidden fruit!
