Do you think that the "U.N." will one day ban all religions?

  For many, religion is the root of terrorism and war. Since the beggining of creation or evolution, mankind is at war not only for religious reasons, but economical ones too. Oil is a good example.

  I was surfing the net and found this article http://www.un-globalsecurity.org/forum/display-message.asp?F=11&M=242&P=1 Sounds like a Dub who wrote that. He sounds rest assure that all religions will be destroyed by the U.N. in the near future.

  Even if the U.N. tried to get rid of all the religions worldwide, I don't know how they would do it. Islam is so strong.

  Do you think the U.N. will one day get rid of all religions worldwide, and if so, how do you think they could do it? If they try to do it militarily, remember that the U.N.'s military force is made up of mostly American military might. Would this mean that religions would be ban here first in America?

  They would do it gradually through propaganda, disinformation, information, introducing a secular knowledge/science/materialist religion, socialism, capitalism, professional debunkers, destruction of moral standards, teaching tolerance, ...

  Ummm... only in the blue states.... the advancements of western civilisation haven't got to the rest of the country yet.

  I think religion is destroying itself... It's just so silly to be afraid of "spirit creatures" and concepts of things like god and the devil are becoming more and more out of date! I won't even comment on the reasoning that advocates the worship of a carpender thats been dead for 2000 years...

  I don't believe that the UN has the power to ban religion. However, it could be wounded pretty badly by:

  Removing Tax exempt status from all religions worldwide.

  Requiring that churches that pay at least at the minimum wage for all those who perform work for the church.

  Making churches responsible for 100% of the cost of all medical and psychological assistance to everyone whom they have driven to need it.

  Enforce the alienation of affection clause that makes the church responsible for damages inflicted on members who wish to leave.

  Impose mandatory reporting laws on all religious officials in the areas of child abuse, rape, assault and battery, and any other conduct that the governments deem to be criminal.

  Require degrees from accredited colleges before one can claim to be a minister of God from a mainstream college and that the degree must only be awarded after the minister is fully aware of all religious doctrine.

  Require that if any student in a government school is taught from one religion, they must be taught all opinions.

  Just a couple ideas...

  All those things would hurt religion but they have nothing to do with the UN. Tax exempt status and all those others are granted by the country in which the religion resides not the UN... The reality is far from being the "wild beast" The UN is a powerless corrupt board of wankers... They can't do ANYTHING nobody cares what they ban or say or do they are pathetic THEY SHOULD BE BANNED! Followed closely by about 85% of United States CEO's
