Us children were always taught that you had to sit still until the prayer was finished. So my little 2 year old brother was really behaving himself. We were sitting in the front row. Naturally, during the memorial, they pray over the emblems.

So the first prayer is over (my father said that prayer), and my brother jumps up, runs down the aisle behind him saying, "Dad! Can I have a mint?!" Bless 'im, he thought he had sat still long enough, and since there was a prayer, it MUST be finished. :)

I'm sure this has happened to everyone too.

When one of the "Friends" brings a new person for the Memorial Festivities and they partake of the emblems.

The same thing happened at my KH one time. There was this old holy roller/sanctified/whatever lady; when the emblems got passed down to her, she almost had it up to her mouth, then the brother yanked it out of her hand. She was completely mortified. I think that it was the last memorial that she ever went to.

Sincerely nothing funny ever happened at my Memorial events....

Except one year my father brought an interested one and he started yelling at the top of his lungs and they escorted him out...my father had come with this man and he drove off, leaving Dad having to find his own way home from the Memorial!

an infant in its mother's arms smiled sweetly at everyone and was so good and quiet...drinking it's bottle contentedly until finished. The mother gently raised him up over her shoulder and patted him softly...and then when they were praying over the emblems and the speaker said "Jehovah, please bless this wine..."

...the little baby burped VERY loudly. Then he smiled as he was very pleased with himself.

Shoulders were shaking all through the auditorium and several teenagers got smacked for laughing out loud.

    It was hilarious.

I think all of can agree that attending the meamorial was a sacred occassion and a time to reflect on our relationship with Christ as our personal saviour. That is when we were stronger JWs. and misguided by the GB.

When I was a strong JW I was given the privelge (so I thought at the time) to set up the memorial table. We lived in the Kingdom Hall at the time so it was an easy task for me and less work on the elders to prepare the table with the wine and bread and utensils.

The only thing that was upsetting was after the memorial service the younger children in the hall would run up to the table and start eating the unleavened bread. I found that to be completely disrespectful. I couldn't understand why parents didn't teach their children that on that occassion it was not a time to play and eat the bread. It use to infuriate me when parents let their kids do that running around. So after a few memorial s like that., I would quickly go to the table afterwards and immediatley remove the bread and wine. And I spoke to the elders about it and they agreed I should do that. .One sister would help me out.

It was a complete lack of respect and the parents should have been counselled for allowing their beasts to do that.

    IMHO that is .
