life of brian is my favorite python flick . I like the part where they are going to stone the old guy for saying the name jehohah . Look he said it again . All I said to my wife was this stew was good enough for jehovah . I just got my copy of the holy grail . another classic .

    Outbutnotdown,

Remember the thread I began at http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/78776/1.ashx on "Pastor Russell and 1914"? You and I and others had a big debate on this topic with a Bible Student, who actually stopped posting because of it.

Talking about getting "lucky" with your predictions

Back in the early 1900's, a guy named Edmund Creffield proclaimed himself "Joshua II", and started a cult in (where else?) the West Coast of the US. His followers were mostly women, and church meeting usually involved shedding all clothes and having an orgy.

When the angry husbands took him to trial in San Fransisco, he announced that God would pronounce judgement on the city.

The next day was April 18, 1906, and San Fransisco experienced the Great Earthquake with pretty much destroyed the city.

Of course, this pretty much cemented his power over his followers, this and a failed assassination attempt against him (the pistol repeatedly misfired.)

This is a link that gives more details about his cult :

    I guess timing is everything!
