    Natures Way

Crimson tears drift earthward on a cold wind from the north.
Boughs and branches shed them with their movements back and forth.
Gray skies and mist hang heavy in November?s chill embrace.
I stand and watch in wonder as a stiff breeze chaps my face.
The days grow short and life retreats to hide from winter?s bite.
The sun makes shorter ventures out, as it yields to longer nights.
The starkness of a winter scene for many brings the blues.
But I love the time of natures rest and the calm of life subdued.
Soon will come the crispness of those crystal clear winter days.
With skies so bright and brilliant blue all spirits they will raise.
Frigid air breathed deeply in, can warm the human heart.
When you recognize that winter?s kill, enables life?s spring start.
The cycle is divinely set, of that much I am sure.
As 40 cycles now I?ve lived, I yearn for 40 more.
My years do paint me past my prime, but my life?s autumn I resist.
For each year?s change of season celebrates that I exist.
I know there?ll come a season when nature calls me to my rest.
I only pray I pass in wintertime, for ?tis the season I love best.

Enjoyed the haiku and the poem, I too write poetry and plays. I wrote this poem this weekend about fall, the dog, and waking up to a fall morning.

It is 6:15 a.m.,Sassy is ready to go crunch leaves

Shakes her ears, stretches long, and jumps off the couch.

The Dalmatian shakes her ears again and announces to the world:

It is 6:15 a.m., Sassy is ready to go crunch leaves.

I put my clothes on, as Sassy paces and dances in tight circles.

Sassy is ready to go crunch leaves.

The frosted leaves crunch the best.

The 6:15 a.m. walk is better than the 9:15?

On the walk the leaves are already moist from the sun,

But on the earlier walk the leaves go crunch, crunch, crunch; crunch.

Sassy runs in circles fast, faster to crunch leaves and stops to smell.

Sassy loves the smell of crunched leaves, and then goes off for a run.

Sassy loves to crunch the leaves, reveling in crunch, crunch; crunch.

It is 6:15 a.m., Sassy is ready to go crunch leaves.

There was a young fellow named Nic'
Who's religion was making him sick.
    The dubs in the Hall
Were just bricks in a Wall
So he fled with his pole vaulting stick

    A New Day Dawns

Around the corner, hid from sight,
    Newly dawned and getting bright.
East it rises, whence it came,
    With a glory outwith frame.

    Duly noted, easily missed,
As it rises from the mist.
    Yesterday's sorrow, far from harm,
Died in the West without alarm.

And now the future, far from bleak,
Waits to see what words we speak.
    Never silent, never loud,
See the day dawns ever proud.

    Pain

The pain has now come and I surrender into my agony

    My heart...what heart?

It is a black pil full of nothingness in which I dewll

The light of my candle, once flickering with joy

    Has went out

    Along with everything that mattered

The rain of terror begins to fall And soddens my body until I drip

    I cower in a corner...would cry if I could

But it is impossible at the state i'm at

    I cannot bear anymore pain

But it continusley piles itself on me

    So I have no choice

They say a single cut can help heal this

    Even alcohol or drugs

    But they're wrong

    All are wrong

A person once said that darkness was placed into the sky

To remind people that after darness light alwyas shines through

If they are right, all I can do is wait

And maybe hope for the best

    Nosferatu

    I was sitting alone
    Waiting by the phone
    Thinking of the days
    Before I changed my ways
    The time that we'd spent
    Away it quickly went
I wish that you were here
    To whisper in my ear

    I think you're really great
    I'll always remember this date
    Until the day I die
    And then she said goodbye

    She held my hand
While we walked on the sand
    She kissed me tenderly
And said that she loved me
    I looked into her eyes
    Her love I idolize
    She looked away from me
And let my hand go free

    I think you're really great
    I'll always remember this date
    Until the day I die
    And then she said goodbye

    I'll never forget the day
    I found she moved away
    So cold I felt inside
    Like committing suicide
Where she went I do not know
I'm just sitting by the phone
    She's my only choice
I can still hear her voice

    I think you're really great
    I'll always remember this date
    Until the day I die
    And then she said goodbye

That one's gonna be on my album! I wrote it when I was a stupid teenager.

    Mr. Moldmakerman

Preacherman say if I aint chasin his brand o' savior
I'd be pitched from the pearlies out on m' posterior
If I didn't show up in the walls five times a week
I'd have no taste r part of blessins fer the meek
He say the Good Book aint fer understandin by me
That be his work, t'aint fer me to disagree
That's right, that's what he say

Painterman say if I can't paint inside the lines
With 'Casso and that Michaelangelo I'll never dine
See he done been trained by the finest on that ther art
On this here subject I aint got nuthin to impart
Tells me art sho nuf aint bout heart and feeling
It be about makin mirrors even if t'aint soul healing
That's right, that's what he say

Politicianman say if I don't vote his gangs way
Country and my chillen's chillin sho nuf gonna pay
Says to trust him to luv'em just as much as me
Admits I thinks on it, "he do got that ther degree"
Tells me he knows pockets n ideals best fer me
Just send in this here proxy, n I can set ma mind free
That's right, that's what he say

Invites Mr. Moldmakerman in fer a sit down n tea
Whils I listen this here 'Chaikovsky, he pretty good ya see
Tells a joke guess meant be funny fer country folk like us
Hope no feelins hurt, tween you n me was kinda silly but aint no fuss
Woulda been more obligin' with a ring thats all
Sunday mornin's the time for me n the lady's own lord's call
    That's right, that's what I's a thinkin

Moldmakerman scratch and shake the head says okay
Say I just too much work n tried s'plainin me away
Said I wudn't up to standard with good country folk sights
Called me aberrations and waht not n thats just not right
Says I was too much work n said his goodbyes
I thinks he was scared when he looked thru his eyes
Said he might be back, next time with entourage
Me thinks maybe fraid his reality was only a mirage
"Misplaced by all Mr. Moldmakerman's men"
    That's right, that's what I think

Christ ...grown men writing poetry and such!!! Bunch of damned poofie-poofs if ya asks me...now put on yer frillys and toddle off, all of ya! GRRRRRRRR !!!!!

    CHAIRDANCER

And she glides through this world

with her beads and her boxes

    She dances in cars

and she sings at the mart

    She tosses her wisdom

    with humor and courage...

And my soul’s keeping time to the beat of her heart.

    So many goodbyes

    interspersed with such highs

As we’d run from each other

    then slowly turn ‘round

    And collide in that space

full of love and such grace...

    I can’t hold you forever...I can’t set you down.

    Yes, she entered my world

    with her pictures and music

As she danced in her chair

    she is ever so smart

    She instantly knew me

as if she’d passed through me...

Soft touch of her hand on the face of my heart.

    She’s brilliant...she’s pretty

    sarcastically witty

    With laser like eyes

    and a heart without locks

    She’s always amazed me

    sometimes made me crazy...

This girl’s at her best just outside of the box.

Still, she glides through this world

with her beads and her boxes

    She dances in cars

and she sings at the mart

Now the north wind blows coldly

and I ask; "Had I only...........?"

As my soul’s logging time since retreat of her heart.
