Such nice thoughts folks, thank you.

    Andi:

how much did that little school uniform break you? $20 - $30?

What you say is quite true but not in this case. Much more is involved on our part but which it's best to leave our " light under a bushel".

    Satanus:

I wonder though, where is his family?

Around - but why do you ask?

    Joy:

I'm sure when you see his face, your face lights up, too. Ozzie

Oh yes! - he's such a rascal. No wonder he's dodged the mines that have deprived so many other males of their legs and survived up till now. I'm looking forward to being with him again soon.

Do you like the new portrait?

    Cheers, Ozzie

Oh, i'm just naturally a curious guy. I was put out of my home, onto the street for a while. I also did long periods of camping, later one. Him not having a house to live in, the question basically pops into my mind if his parents also are without a house/home. Do they also live in the jungle? If so, do they live in a camp, or do they move around? If they do have a house/home, then the boy is not w them. Why is he not w them? Was he kicked out? Did he run away? Were there other circumstances that forced him to leave?

If the answers are of a personal nature, then i understand, and will live peacefully without the answers. Still, i salute you for caring, and doing something.

    G'day S,

May I say that although sympathising with your experience, there's a world of difference between an advanced capitalistic state and somewhere in the Third World. The poorest of the poor in our lands is infinitely better off than the peasants of SE Asia. That lad's life experience could never be imagined by us, let alone understood. Well, that's how I've found it anyway. Admittedly Mrs Ozzie and I have tried and, God willing, will continue to try and in doing so make it possible for his community to enjoy an improvement in living standards. It seems to me that we have been blessed with much, yet we didn't make it, so it's our to share and that's what Mrs Ozzie and I are trying to do.

    Cheers, Ozzie

    Ozzie,

I understand not wanting to share. That wasn't my intention though to get you to disclose the amount of money you shared to better this child's life. My question although rhetorical does make a point: It takes very little to make an impact on another's life. Many times we are just too absorbed in our own to realize how much of a difference we can make.

This month our church is focusing on missions in it's sermons, bible study lessons, and home groups. I am realizing that it is important for me individually to realize that different people are called to different "ministries". For some, they have a heart for the local homeless. Others have a heart for underprivileged children. Still others have a heart to support those that are doing missionary work overseas. I guess my point being that we all have a calling to help somewhere. I've received criticism in the past for going overseas to do mission work when there are opportunities locally. But for that moment in time, it's not where I felt led to help. I think as long as we're all doing something, keeping in mind there are others called to what we're not called to, then how can it hurt?

    Hugs,

    Andi
