Reaching out to the shunned
J.R. Brown, a national spokesman, said people who voluntarily withdraw from the church or become inactive are visited a few times a year by elders of their local congregations.
What a GREAT substitute for the constant fellowship with and love of family and friends!
I attended this very event based on the newspaper article printed above. Very interesting. There was a panel of six people who gave their experiences of finding true Christianity after being JWs. These people struck me as very sincere, people humbly seeking to emulate Christ. I only wish more people attended. The audience was only about the size of the panel in spite of a large article in our state's most popular newspaper.
I've been gone 14 years and have been visited once.
As for this guy mentioned, I think he does a service, possibly, for some. My concern is these people leaving one control group for another.
