I suspect while we are INdoctrinated we find nothing much wrong with the concept of the DF, after all, we all grow up in countries which use methods of jailing and execution and as JWs we considered ourselves members of a higher government which accoring to the mosaic laws was pretty brutal on all its citizens, consider Deut 21:18 -- if you cannot brainwash your children, [proverbs adds after beating them], then bring them to the elders and have them stoned to death.
over course while we were brainwashed this made some sort of sense as of course Jehovah was behind it all allowing it to happen as he saw fit and who were we to question his wisdom?
but as the scales of irrational trust dropped and our realization that humans are liars by nature and con artists abound and we have likely been just as if not more so duped then those who we considered duped [everyone but us of course, after all how could we be duped, right?] we feel that what seemed fair to us before now is being used against us in a most unfair way....
but it really is no different from all the other con artists and thieves we deal with as governments or religions with strict values and views.
many religions are not as brutal as JWs, but some are far more so...but one of the things we admired about JWs when we were conned was that they matched the brutatlity of the bible to some extent, no?
