In reality, I don't think they even need to DF you officially. As long as someone is willing to start a rumour about you to the effect that "a friend of a friend of a friend" heard that you were now Apostate?, it's just as good as DFing you ultimately

    Scullymeister....very true.

My point in posting this was for those who do not wish to be DFed or Disassociated and are being dealt with unjustly by the Organisation . Using the info I posted will not always stop the Elders from taking action , but it's a good argument and may help show up the true colors of the society if we can point this info out to others.

    Here I am.
    Waddayawant?

So Heathens......were you warned twice BEFORE you were expelled, and were there at least TWO witnesses there to accuse you of the charges????

I let them come and "reason" with me on two visits after I DA'ed.
It gave me a fine opportunity to counter-witness and stump them.
Two of them duly appeared in my living room on the Monday evening (for 3 hours) and Wednesday afternoon(for 1.5 hours), before making their more formal announcement at the Service Meeting on the Thursday evening.

At least they got to fill in the remaining boxes on the S77 Form that I prefilled for them.
Talk about them prolonging their agony...

Thanks LT for sharing. I knew if you came along it might get my thread to the flaming stage of 20 posts

So far, nobody has said the society has applied their own supposed rules when DFing them. What a farce! Why did they bother to print it in the I.S. book in the first place..........to look good?

I never wondered about that before, but perhaps I was, at least according to the letter of the law. Within a very short period of time though (one "special week" with two COs in a Portuguese congregation in Paris). Perhaps it just happened that way, or was it the current procedure? (the Insight book was not yet written, but the epistle to Titus was...)

We were two "brothers" involved. Both special pioneers and out from Bethel for a few months.

The first time we were summonned by the COs and BOE, the only criticism leveled at us was that "we were speaking too much about Jesus" (no kidding) and this was creating trouble (go figure). No mention of "apostasy" or judicial threat though.

A couple of days later, another meeting with the same men. We explained and maintained our stance but never questioned any WT teaching. At the end of the meeting, however, we were informed that a JC would have to hear us. I was dismissed but my friend was asked to stay. This very night he was df'd.

I was called before the JC (made up of French elders, only one of them I knew) another couple of days later. Had to answer by "yes" or "no" to a set series of doctrinal questions. Just said about most points I was not sure and could no longer teach that. The final question was, would I stop associating with my (now df'd) fellow? I answered I couldn't see any reason why I should. So I was df'd. On the grounds of 2 John 9--11, which was quite ironic in view of the initial charge.

The epilogue came one week later, with the appeal Committee, on which the two COs who had initiated and directed the first procedure were serving! That was so obvious that I bursted out laughing. And so the story was over.

From my experiece I see that the elders just do whatever they want. One of them told me about a situation that I was close to and the situation was that they had prayed as a body of elders and came to a conclusion about what was in my daughter's heart and judged her by that (by the way she had committed no sin) When I questioned this one of the elders said that they could do this because they were judges for Jehovah and his holy spirit had directed them in this matter. Later read in the shepharding book something along these lines, so I could see where he could have got that idea. So if they are judges for Jehovah and they can judge people's hearts without even talking to them--they can do anything they darn well please without any prior warning. I think that once you are suspected of being an apostate they will drop the axe on you---no questions asked.

PS--good info gumby--I am saving this in case I ever need it.
