You cannot weaken 1914 without weakening 1919. No 1914, no 1919 special attention from God as the only true religion

I've never heard about 1919, is there any timeline or anything linking 1914 to 1919? What proof do they give for 1919 and them being the only true religion?

the wt uses the 31/2 years in rev and the 3 years from the baptism of christ till his death. to cover over the false prophecies of the end of the world in oct 1914 and the spring of 1918 they were even saying the 3 1/2 years of ww1 was armageddom and the world had ended.and in 42 months they would all be in heaven (1920-21)then they added 7 years to 1918 to say the world would end in 1925. the funny thing about all this . is they pulled the same crap in 1874-1878thenshot for 1874+7yrs to go to heaven in 1881 they also played with dates like 1799 1780,1798, 1829. 1844 1865,1872 73 75 76 ,1905-07 1910-12 and 1915@ 1930 all these old dates went out the window and they switched all the 1874-78-81 stuff to 1914-1918-19. and that's the lie we have today..john

Yes, it is their explanation of the 2 witnesses in Revelation, 1,260 days, counting from the fall of 1914 to 1918 when they are "killed" and then resurrected in the fall of 1919.

So 1919 is directly tied to 1914 in their minds.

    Rbi8 Revelation 11:1-13 ***

    11

And a reed like a rod was given me as he said: "Get up and measure the temple [sanctuary] of God and the altar and those worshiping in it. 2 But as for the courtyard that is outside the temple [sanctuary], cast it clear out and do not measure it, because it has been given to the nations, and they will trample the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. 3 And I will cause my two witnesses to prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days dressed in sackcloth." 4 These are [symbolized by] the two olive trees and the two lampstands and are standing before the Lord of the earth.

    5

And if anyone wants to harm them, fire issues forth from their mouths and devours their enemies; and if anyone should want to harm them, in this manner he must be killed. 6 These have the authority to shut up heaven that no rain should fall during the days of their prophesying, and they have authority over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with every sort of plague as often as they wish.

    7

And when they have finished their witnessing, the wild beast that ascends out of the abyss will make war with them and conquer them and kill them. 8 And their corpses will be on the broad way of the great city which is in a spiritual sense called Sod´om and Egypt, where their Lord was also impaled. 9 And those of the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations will look at their corpses for three and a half days, and they do not let their corpses be laid in a tomb. 10 And those dwelling on the earth rejoice over them and enjoy themselves, and they will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those dwelling on the earth.

    11

And after the three and a half days spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet, and great fear fell upon those beholding them. 12 And they heard a loud voice out of heaven say to them: "Come on up here." And they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies beheld them. 13 And in that hour a great earthquake occurred, and a tenth of the city fell; and seven thousand persons were killed by the earthquake, and the rest became frightened and gave glory to the God of heaven.

yes blondie: this is how they proclaim the 42 months. funny thing is none of it applies to rutherfraud and his 6 friends who only went to prison for 10 months. and got out on bond. while over 1000 other persons sent to jail for going against the sedition act stayed in jail till 1933 when f.d.r. let them all out.they were never killed and the wt publishing co. was never shut down. but many other newpapers were closed down. and many were killed for talking out against the gov't in ww1. they only got into trouble in late 1917 then trial in spring 1918 ,june in fact. the wt went under the radar from 1914-1917 till the u.s. joined the war . then they even took 15 pages out of the finished mystery, to make the gov't happy.it was mostly a bunch of letters that the wt wrote to army officers. telling them to shoot over the enemy's heads that got them in trouble. keep in mind that rutherfraud was polotically connected to a point from his earlier days in the democratic party. he pulled every trick out of the book to keep from prison. from lobbing the atty, general of the u.s. to printing many favorable articles in the wt about the flag, the league of nations, the u.s. winnin8g the war. to celebrating mermorial day. he was great at playing both sides against the middle. and it worked for him . john

Personally, I'm looking forward to what they say in the year 2014, one hundred years after their special date. "Brothers, one hundred years have passed since 1914, and there is even more reason to keep on the watch!"

I wonder if 2014 is going to have an effect on JWs? Will they learn that they've been lied to for 100 years?

Speaks for itself! The William Miller apocalyptic movement of 1840 has never faulted has it? Monkey 2

Thousands gather hereover four weekends [Jdub convention]

Jehovah's Witnesses see voting as divisive Thursday, July 29, 2004
David Briggs Plain Dealer Religion Reporter

Call it a campaign strategist's nightmare: More than 30,000 people coming to a central location in Cleveland over four weekends, and hardly a single vote to be had. .........

....Jehovah's Witnesses, a true made-in-America religion, grew out of a movement that began with the end-time prophecies of William Miller, the founder of Adventism. The "Great Disappointment" of 1844 - when Miller's predictions of the Second Coming did not come true - did not deter him or others from their vision.

Coming out of the Adventist tradition was Charles Taze Russell, the founder of the Witnesses.

Russell set 1874 as the date for Christ's return, and 1914 for the battle of Armageddon and the beginning of Jesus' rulership on Earth.

World War I seemed to confirm his prophecy, but the slogan of Russellites that "millions now living will never die" lost some impact when Russell died in 1916. [Millions now dying will never live]

Liar After several other failed attempts to predict the end of this world, the Witnesses in the 1990s officially dismissed date setting as speculation. ....]

The Aug 1st article is smoke and mirors. If you read it they have taken more nuts and bolts from their 1914 doctrine. Every revision makes 1914 less meaningful to JWs. They dont even tell you why JWs believe in 1914 anymore.

    Greetings,

It is sad that the Watchtower says: "You can enjoy the blessings that come from associating with those who are being educated in and endeavoring to live by the standards of the Kingdom."

What scripture says that blessings "come from" associating with those (Jehovah's witnesses) who are being educated in and endeavoring to live by the standards of the kingdom? Does not blessings come from JAH? Do they not come from his Son.. JAHeshua? Do not blessings come from the Father of the celesial lights with every GOOD GIFT and every PERFECT PRESENT?

The Watchtower also said: "Better still, you can come to enjoy the prospect of living under Kingdom rule in the promised new world in which "righteousness is to dwell."--2 Peter 3:13""

What benefit is there in enjoying the "prospect" of something? How do you know when this "prospect" expires? Did not our Lord give us the "guarantee" that "He who believes in ME will NOT come into judgment, but he will have ALREADY passed over from death to LIFE?" Did he not say that "He that feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood HAS everlasting life?" Therefore if one HAS everlasting life.. they are not waiting for the "prospect of life" because by means of the Christ they can HAVE life everlasting..now.
