I think I mentioned this before, but I also have some personal experience with abuse that may have been prevented if the WT policy were different. I also believe in a caring God and maybe I am stupid for still being a JW. I certainly am not one due to faith in all pronouncements and policies coming out of Bethel.

If you still believe Bible to be inspired, what about situations like with David or Pharisees or elders in Corinth, etc. etc.? Still used by God but seriously screwed up situations.

I asked my elders this 15 years ago:

If you were Joe Israelite during the reign of one of the bad kings, what would you do? Jehovah's inspired (not spirit directed) organization has gone corrupt. There are no priests, the temple is being used for child sacrifice, the leaders are worshipping Baal or Molek. There is no way for you, as a common man, to properly fulfill the Law. So what do you do? And realize sometimes this went on for 40, 50 years or more. How do you worship God?

I think you do your best. It was good enough for God before the Law of Moses. It was good enough after the first century church went corrupt, so it ought to be good enough now.

Understand, I'm honestly not sitting in judgment on your choice. If it works for you, then do what you have to do. I only have a problem with those who try to defend or justify an evil policy that is hurting thousands of children. I have a problem with people who ignore that situation or even try to say it is "God's will".

    Chris,

I'm not sitting in judgment of you either.

Joe Israelite had it tough, but that was the situation for most of the history of Israel.

The system was also corrupt when Jesus came.

Believe me, I have a problem with that too.
