Why do you think the JW's are seeing (supposed) growth in the former Soviet Union? Those people need one autocratic organization to control their lives now that Communism and the totalitarian tacticks of the USSR is kaput......

I was in a congregation in the mid-80's that was completely dissolved and we all had to drive 30 miles to our assigned congregation. That cong had to send a brother down to conduct the bookstudy on Tuesday nights as well. The entire body of elders and MS's was deleted (with the exception of my dad, who somehow managed to stay out of the all the BS that was going on). Most of those involved are now either df'd or inactive. Wasn't aware that this was going on in a much larger scale at this time, though.
