    Geez Louise

    What a day you had...

What he said made me roll on the floor though.

Son: (sniffing and trying to act very brave) "Mommy, I'm a very lucky boy!"

Me: (wondering how he could possibly consider needing ear surgery as "lucky") "And how is that?"

Son: (between sniffs) "Because the one I put in my other ear fell out"!!!

What the hell are you making him eat unpopped popcorn for anyway, you take away TV on Sunday just when all the good gospel shows are on and then you cheap out and make him eat seeds:-)

Hope everything comes out ok..no pun intended

P.S...tell him everything will be ok that this thing happens all the time...in Gumby's house.

"Mommy, I'm a very lucky boy!"

Not to be corny or anything, but I hope he understands that there is a kernel of truth in his statement.

I hope the ear specialist is able to help -- short of surgery.

When I was a kid (maybe 5 or 6) I shoved a tic tac up my nose. Boy did that burn! I think that caused a trip to the ER.

Odrade is on the right track with the tiny vaccum idea .One of my nephews went through a similar expierience (the item was a dry bean )when he was about nine and the E.R. doc pushed it in further requiring a trip to the specialist. who said if a vaccum had been used it would of came out easier. As it took a while longer to extract. Kids! hopefully all will go well for ya.

Yes! A vacuum was my first thought, too - however, I was afraid of sucking his little ear drum right out with the popcorn kernel! Interestingly enough, that is what the "capable" ER doctor used - (however, he called it "suction" which is just a fancy term for a medical instrument which will "SUCK the money right out of your pockets"!) LOL! What a ditz this guy was! He kept jamming the narrow tube into my son's ear and pushing the kernel in farther! (I'm afraid to even think about what this guy might be like with a scalpel! Yikes!!!!)

As far as the plant growing out of his ear, Elsewhere, my husband had already beaten you to it! I would never have dreamed of saying anything like that to him because I thought it would freak him out, but he took it in stride! Apparently, he doesn't care if a corn stalk starts sprouting out of his ear - although I imagine that at harvest time, (or when trying to walk through doorways!) he might change his mind!!!

FMZ and Dan-O, I just LOVE "corny" humor - thanks for the laughs!!!!!

Shotgun - What?! Are you the Food Police or somethin'?! There's nutrition in them thar kernels!!!!! (And btw - the name is "Thelma" - can't you keep your gangster chicks straight?!!!!!) LOL!

Special K - Man! I sure wish popcorn kernels were magnetic like those screws - sure would have saved a whole lotta trouble!

Whatever you do, keep him away from the Microwave!

Seriously, I too did some very stupid things as a child. Fortunately children are resilient.

(trying so hard not to laugh) and failing miserably.

I do hope he will be ok though!!!!!

My eldest daughter shoved a rabbit poopey in her nose when she was a toddler! (Your turn to laugh)

We had to take her to ER to flush in out! What are they thinking?!

My son did something similar when he was 8. My husband got it out. I also recall a man relating that his brother stuck bean seeds up his nose, and they SPROUTED. Eeeeewwwww.

Good luck, growedup. Like has been mentioned... microwaving that baby might help it 'pop' out.
