It's been 21 years. I have now been with her longer than without. She has become part of me now, merged into my soul in ways that are impossible to describe, and impossible to live without. She is more beautiful to me now than a warm summer's day long ago when a petite young woman pledged her love to a skinny and brooding young man.
It's been 21 years. And when our time has passed and we leave this world I will be content knowing she was there with me.
