It is entertaining to watch AOL buy up other companies & drive them into the ground.
I kinda like the free CDs, though. I draw smiley faces on them & use them to decorate my office, the Christmas tree, etc.

similar probs with aol downunder too. i quit them after only a couple of months.
I hated AOL. WAAYYYY too many pop-up ads and it took forever to load. I use NetZero now and it's cheap and easy. (No, I DID NOT say I was cheap and easy, I said NetZero was)!!!!!!
It suckst he BIG ONE!!! I canceled my AOL account and they still withdrew money for 3 months...I was so ticked off. I do believe that RR is affiliated with AOL, though....but I am having better luck with them.
RR is a subsidiary of AOL/Time-Warner.
Down with AOL !!!! it sucks bigtime .
I hate it too, when they can't speak english Its terrible. Not that I am being a racist, be gee whiz where are all the english smart whips.
Orangefatcat...
Orange, when i tried to cancel they gave me an english speaking person, but every single time i call for tech support they give me someone who doesnt understand my problem! Its freaken aggrivating
He tells me ok spell it slowly!
OK, well I have been on AOL off and on for 10 years now and I LOVE IT! I use it even though we have another ISP. I hardly ever have problems (touch wood), no pop ups, easy to scan my email for viruses and a spam filter (finally).
Sorry you have had such a problem with it Stephanie

I've been with AOL sinnce 96, when i first got online. I've had my share of problems, but i love their e mail program. Also, generally speaking, their techs have been ok with me. back in 96, they practically had to taeach me everything. now they will not do that stuff, everyone is so different. What i'm i mean is, when peole first started getting online i mass numbers, the techs would talk you and help u with most anything. now they are to "uppty" to do that. I have never used anyone but AOL. so i don't have a comparison. The new 9.0 has a pop up blocker and spam fighter. lthat is nice. I have cable now too, and it is so nice, compared to dial up.
Good luck with your internet problems. I personally hated roadrunner. I had a terrible time working with them and my company to set up a home office. My company finally decided to ditch them and go for Bellsouth dsl.
