This occured in 1991 in regards to Bulgeria

Oddly, mentioned as a goal of the organization is listed as "honesty". What a joke!

Good sleuthing Little Witch. I hear you about the "exhasuting" part of it.

I used advanced search with google, directly pointed at their web site, and didn't come up with anything like that.

CJ and I were talking about the UN thing this morning. What we find equalling apalling about the whole thing is, after the WTBTS initial membership, how the harsh rhetoric and artwork about the UN, seemed to go away. Replaced by cleverly worded articles, that they could forward to the UN to show how they were fullfilling their obligation of 'promoting the UN and its it's values and principles'

    Cunning lying bastards they are.

"In respect of the refusal of blood transfusion, the applicant association submits that while this is part of the religious doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses, its acceptance depends on the personal choice of the individual concerned. There are no religious sanctions for a Jehovah's Witness who chooses to accept blood transfusion. Therefore, the fact that the religious doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses is against blood transfusion cannot amount to a threat to "public health", every individual being free in his or her choice. "

Is forcible Dissassociation against someone?s wishes, not classed as a religious sanction?

have a look at this german documentation (1.8 MB) about the UN-connection:

wouldn't it be nice, to have something similar in english?

    Thanks XJWB12

Here is how I am finding these documents:

Use ordinary search, type in for example EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES

    MINORITY RELIGIOUS RIGHTS EUROPE

    HUMAN RIGHTS JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES

    UN JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES

    NGO MINORITY RELIGIOS RIGHTS

    EUROPEAN COMMISSION HUMAN RIGHTS

You see, they are still persuing political clout. There are many current documents online showing WTS appearances alongside human rights groups. They are aligning themselves with these groups to get before judges, commissions, and legislative bodies around the world. I even saw one today where they were hand in hand with a gay and lesbian rights group!

They may no longer have NGO status, but they are aligning themselves with those who do.

In looking to refute that silly excuse given by the watchtower as to why it joined the UN as an NGO, I found two instances of the jw ngo representatives rolling in the hay with the ol' whore.

Here is one... (assuming my paste works)

    http://www.hri.ca/fortherecord1999/documentation/commission/e-cn4-sub2-1999-21.htm

This very link you give was part of a recent topic. The following from "hawk" on that same link spells it out . . .

    Let's take a big .... major ..... pause .......

Its not that the corporations are non govenmental organizations (NGOs) as defined that is the issue. Hell, all not for profit corporations are considered NGOs.

The key is .... did the corporation "partner" with the United Nations and in doing so did it voluntarily agree to the UN's criteria (ie. showing support for the Charter etc.). Was the corporation "associated" with the UN's DPI or did it have a consultative status with the UN's ECOSOC.

The only corporation to be an "associated NGO" with the UN's DPI so far has been the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc.

No one has offered any proof (yet) that any other corporation affilated with the WTS has gone down the path of "partnering" with the beast.

Therefore, unless I am missing something please stop this little effort before it gets right out of control.

Remember the keys to the puzzle are - did the NGO obtain an "associated" status with the UN's Department of Public Information or did it obtain a "consultative" status with the UN's ECOSOC.

Also remember that NGOs do not "join" but rather "partner" with the UN. In doing so the "evil scarlet coloured beast" requires the "transparent" NGO to voluntarily support the "beast's" Charter.

    Good deal, LittleWitch!

Turns out the two links you gave at the top of the thread are identical. Did you intend to post a different 2nd link?

I thought Jehovah was supposed to all this work for them.

I thought Jesus said his kingdom was not of this world... why is WTS mixing with them?

all questions retorical of course. makes you think doesn't it.

    Hi LW.

Thanks for bringing up these links. I had stumbled across similar ones a few years back.

There was a time when I thought I would go cross-eyed from spending so much time at the monitor digging up crap on the WT.

BTW, has anyone heard of the deep web?

This site, http://www.brightplanet.com/deepcontent/bp_searchtutorial.pdf has a white paper explaining the concept and how it goes MUCH deeper in ferreting out webpages and sites which would be especially useful in exposing the WT's bastardly and dastardly dealings.

Unfortunately Bright Planet is insanely expensive.

But, for those who have the time, the computers at the good ole' public library (major metropolitan areas) have the same deep web capability and they are free!

    Happy hunting!

    Dino
