I'm certainly not anti-Semitic. I saw the movie last night and did not come out being anti-Semitic. If anyone's anti-Semitism is fueled it is because he had that disposition already when he went into the theater. As far as I'm concerned the Romans were depicted as being far more brutal and cruel than the Jews and I didn't come out of the theater being anti-Roman either. It seems to me that it showed that everyone was equally to blame. I also saw the Ten Commandments when it first came out and I didn't come out of the movie being anti-Egyptian. I think that Jews who see it will come out seeing it as anti-Semitic and non-Jews will not see that way at all. It's all in the eyes of the beholder.

The Jewish population that I know are not threatened or offended by this movie. They are far too intelligent a group to take offense at some ancient history. They also understand that there is a good deal of money to be made on this movie.....

I live in an area with a big Jewish population and they aren't offended by it either. Some even went to see the movie. It was a small percentage of the Jews that started the controversy.

Not true, the Legion that was in Judea at that time was the Italica, and was made of Italians and Roman citizens. Therefore, it was the Italians that killed Jesus. Some Jews may have had a hand in handing Jesus over, but that's not all or even most Jews. In the theological sense all sinners are responsible for Jesus' death.

SOME Jews hated, not all, not even most...there were several millions of Jews back in those days. Again, from the theological standpoint all sinners are responsible for the death of Jesus. Yes, Stephen was stoned by Jews...and so called christians have murdered millions of Jews...silly, isn't it.
Jesus himself was a Jew, the authorities didn't like Jesus for what he had to say about them...and that he challenged their authority.
