This is a long shot to those with influence at Bethel, particularly the Governing Body. If you happen to be a lurker on this site. please take into account the feelings of those who are affected or even hurting because of current teachings and policies emanating from Watchtower. Brothers please realise that genuine individuals believe every word you say. Please look into your hearts and bring an end to what you know is wrong. Look at Jesus example. Show mercy, show compassion, show kindness. Empathise with those who have been affected by abuse in all its forms. PLEASE CHANGE YOUR WAYS. PLEASE CHANGE BROTHERS. Let us be viewed as a Christian organisation and not as cult or high control religion. Brothers please lift your finger and make the necessary changes. Yes it will be a big transition, but most definitely for the better.. This is a very honest and genuine plea to you.. TE

They don't care. New wine/old wine skins and all that. That which is crooked cannot be made straight, ect.

You don't realize that these dudes are GONE.... They signed bibles for Jeehoober's sake! They play in the stock market, hide money in the Caymans, lie to the Superior Authorities. THEY DONT CARE!!

DATA-DOG. I agree with you.....but as someone who has to watch his own daughter grow up in this religion, I am clutching at straws. It breaks my heart to know she is being slowly indoctrinated into WT beliefs. Yes I could pull the plug and try to stop my wife and daughter attending.....but as you know, that simply can't be done as would turn their world upside down. Hence the long shot....aim at the root of the problem.....the men with power and influence. The ones who can bring an end to all erroroneus teachings and policies.

The Governing Body members are slaves to the Pennsylvania corporation. They will only speak and do what they must to keep money coming in. I'm sure that at least a few of them realize the reality of their lives - not really specially chosen to be leaders, not really having a "heavenly hope," not really influenced by "holy spirit."

Can you imagine how they must feel playing their roles as specially designated individuals with special insight into the scriptures and Jehovah's will - when they know nothing more than some of the real experts that the Watchtower has at its disposal - lawyers, writers, planners, printing and publishing specialists, video producers? They have to know they are just actors playing roles designed to convince their viewers that they are special, competent, and with broader knowledge than anyone else in the organization - when they are not.

Geoffrey Jackson gave it all away when he could not competently answer the most mundane of questions about his authority and influence within the organization. You would have thought he was just another paper-loader or inker on one of the WT printing presses. He probably does not even have the writing and editorial skills to competently edit the latest Watchtower or Awake! magazine. And yet Jehovah has chosen him and six other old guys to explain the Bible to all other JWs?

Give me a break. The GB members know inside that they are nothing special.

Let me say respectfully, Truthexplorer, that you are being naïve and your efforts will be wasted. Instead of "clutching at straws" you should wait for something more substantial to clutch, like a baseball bat.

I don't know what your family situation is like but I believe that if you can pull the plug then go for it. Tell your wife about the pedophilia issue; make her see the videos from the Australian Royal Commission. Tell her that there is no way that you will allow your daughter to attend meetings or field service due to that.

They don't give a shit about you, you are expendable. Membership loss is built into the business model. The policies of the business are employed to keep the members captive for as long as possible.

Cutting off contributions is the only way those "in" can protest. Only until enough people inside decide that they've had enough and vote with their feet will the overlords consider any real changes.

Try to watch documentaries on other 'cults' like scientologists or Mormons with them. Criticize their practices as opposed to the 'truth' but don't point out all the obvious similarities. Let them stew subconsciously for a while. Once forgotten, show footage of the royal commission and such, as if you've just discovered it. Then keep finding more. Then question the most basic teachings about 1914 and 'try' to find evidence thereof with them. Erode the foundation.

Thanks for posts everyone. You can tell my frustration. V.I, We have a lot of relatives who are 'in'. We also have many friends, particularly my wife. She is very poular. My daughter has a social network both within and at school. My wife and I have always been as balanced as we possibly can with her as she is a little sweet heart. I have told her to enjoy her school years. If she wishes to do extra curricular activities, she has our blessing. We give her as much liberty as possible. We even celebrate her birthday each year quietly. (note: it looks like many do this anyway given the recent branch rules that were leaked in which they appear to turn a blind eye when it comes to birthdays, so long as you don't promote it) How on earth is anyone in their right mind supposed to forget the special day their child was born! I recently tried the head on approach with my wife whilst reading in bed. She asked what I was reading. I said I had downloaded crises of conscience and explained what it was about. She went nuts saying how is she supposed to respect me as spiritual head of the household when I am reading apostate literature etc. I tried to say it was just a book and was interested in reading the man's experience. I then switched of my tablet and changed the subject. She is a liberal JW, but has a line she will never cross. She knows I have apostate/ questionable views about WT teachings etc. That's where things lie. And that's how it is for thousands of us earthwide. Having watched that shady Australia branch lawyer (I think his surname was Toole), I see clearly what Ray Franz meant when he referred to the WT leadership as an 'Iron fist in a velvet glove'. Hopefully, there are some within the leadership who are not all 'Tooles'!!!!! listen to the voice of reason, and concientiously use their influence to make the necessary changes. They have to! otherwise they will continue to face ongoing criticism from every angle, which is already having an effect on the organisation.
