I was More or less raised in the "truth." Got baptized at 18 appointed MS at 21 then at the age of 28 after attending an Elders and MS meeting with CO I walked away and never came back. I gave no indication of my departure, and no slow fade just left cold turkey. The congregation was perplexed. Here I was a MS in good standing and I just stopped attending the meetings and going out in field service.

Just a short trip for me...never baptised... in at 15, out at 17... joined the Canadian Armed forces on my 18th Birthday. Have spent the last 26 years doing (almost) everything they preached against.

Most of my family are witnesses.

Born into the JW cult a third generation member. Grandfather was a congregation servant and elder for over 40 year.s Mother is age 56 and she was born into it in 1947.

Pressured into baptism at age 12.

Pioneered extensively and was expected to go to Bethel and become a CO.

Realized it was a load of BS as a teenager.

Became inactive and stopped attending meetings at age 18.

Suffered from depression because family was shunning me and temporarily returned to attempt to get family back at age 20.

Really started researching the religion with grandfather's Watchtower and Awake bound volumes from 1930's to 1990's and JW-related websites (i.e. www.quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com)

    DA myself at age 21.

Happier than hell and free at age 23.
