Dear lurkers,This overlaps with Dave's post, but as an extremely abbreviated check, consider this comparison:
Watchtower....
- Does not tolerate disagreement.
- Accuses detractors without considering their actual arguments.
- Does not encourage reading sources critical of its opinions.
By contrast, XJWs....
- Allow disagreement. Only you can decide how to interpret any given set of facts.
- Discuss the arguments and counter-arguments for any idea at considerable length.
- Encourage reading any source you like, so as to form a complete opinion.
Which group is afraid of information? Which group fosters individual growth and personal responsibility? Which group's methods allow a person to come to a more informed opinion? If these two sides were discussing a non-religious issue, whose side would you be more attracted to? Which side would you be wary of? Be honest with yourself.
