Sheila Like you I did my best to treat them the same - I remember too well what favoritism does to kids.
But they reality is they were different - totally. My oldest is calm, serious, considerate, thoughtful. And sadly was too much like I was. The youngest was more demanding - always.
Even while I was pregnant there were differences and they went on from there. The youngest always stood her ground and pushed the limits. I have had to learn to accept she is her own person and our personalities probably won't ever be in tune with each other
And yea I remember those days of asking for some little thing and it turning into the end of the world.
I dont have kids that old, but one of my younger sisters had a big chip on her shoulder when she turned 21...oh wait, it was there already, it just got bigger is all. Definately an age where some kids think they are adults all of a sudden because they can buy beer, and all of a sudden they get a whole lot of new underage friends.
I think I was more obnoxious when I turned 18 than 21. By the time I was 21 I was back in the JWs, and leading quite a pious (boring) life.
