6 Had there been rain prior to this? The Bible does not say. Genesis 2:5 says: “Jehovah God had not made it rain.” But this is how Moses, who lived centuries later, expressed matters in discussing not Noah’s day but a time long before that. As shown at Genesis 7:4, Jehovah referred to rain when speaking to Noah, and evidently Noah understood what he meant. Yet, Noah’s faith was not in what he could see. The apostle Paul wrote that Noah was “given divine warning of things not yet beheld.” God told Noah that He was going to bring upon the earth “the deluge of waters,” or “the heavenly ocean,” as a footnote in the New World Translation expresses it at Genesis 6:17. Down to that time, such a thing had never occurred. But all creation visible to Noah stood as an evident demonstration that God could indeed bring such a destructive deluge. Moved by faith, Noah built the ark.

Water cycle is crucial for life and would not be possible with just mist and water canopy.

At the meeting last night I was already steaming and boiling more than Noah would have been underneath all that water vapour and then someone went and misread one of the paragraphs and said the ark was the biggest vessel EVER built - bigger than the super cargo ships and massive cruise liners that sail the world today.

I let out a barely concealed snigger and went back to reading New Scientist.

The whole flood story is a fairytale.

All the mountains were flooded. So how did they breath all that time on top of the mount Everest?

A rising tide lifts all boats and the air around them. that breathing is not the problem, It is a high tale of hot air

All the Oxygen that was at sea and ground level would have been lifted up too. There needed to be no Oxygen masks on the ark, neither was it pressurized. the decrease in pressure because of the expanded atmosphere would have been equivalent to climbing a 3 story building. The problem is not the heights, it is the water to get it 9000 meter deep and get rid of it. Imagine a faith build on fables like your's too.
