    First One

I recall when an Elder died, he was in his seventies, one who I could really talk to.
It devastated his wife, she relied on him for most things, and she was lost without him.
Within no more than 3 months their two sons, both Elders in two different congregations, had moved their mother out of the house into an old people's home and sold the house. My wife and I visited her at home, which we did every week, and she was totally lost and could not understand what had happened. Hardly anyone else from the congregation visited her not even any of the Elders. Within about 6 months she died, I believe from a broken heart, not just from losing a husband but from the treatment the so-called "Jehovah's loving organisation" gave her.
Incidentally, also, both the two sons had some time beforehand been disfellowshipped for adultery.
But were reinstated within a year and back as Elders!

    Second one.

There was a sister in the congregation who was a "Special Pioneer" and very good-looking.
She had a part-time job as a secretary for a small local company to help with expenses.
She often had parts in demonstrations on how to do "field service" not just in the congregation, but at Circuit assemblies and District conventions. I remember seeing her do a demonstration at a Circuit assembly and being interviewed on how she does "field service". After that assembly, she seemed to disappear, we were told she moved to another congregation down by London to help them there.
I was friendly with her non-JW brother, who was a bit of a wild guy, I asked about her, how was she getting on etc. He laughed and asked if I knew what had happened, I said No.
Well, she was having an affair with the guy who owned the company she worked for, her brother said for at least two years or longer. When after that last Circuit assembly, we saw her doing her stuff. She and the guy ran off together. So, our wonderful Special pioneer sister really had a big secret, I bet she was laughing when she did those demonstrations for us.

    Third One

There was an Elder and his family, a wife, two daughters and a son, in the other congregation that shared our Kingdom Hall. My wife was very friendly with the wife of that family, they grew up together as JWs. We often had them round and we to them. I also was a friend of that wife's brother, who told me the rest of this story. Then suddenly that family upped and moved about two hundred miles away. We were told the husband had been offered a better job.
To keep this short turned out the son who was eighteen when they left had been accused by others of being a child molester. The family then just upped and left nothing was said about anything. Sometime later the son was caught abusing the 5-6-year-old son of a JW sister in the congregation they moved to. This lady instead of going to the Elders as the Watchtower says she should have done; went straight to the police. And boy, did this open an assortment of problems. Turned out others and I mean JWs were involved in a kind of paedophile ring in the area. They thought they were safe because of the way the Watchtower deals with such things.

Myself, I had two brothers on two separate occasions proposition me. I was 28 at the time, married with children. One was about 26/27 single, the other mid-30s and he was a Ministerial servant and married.
If you say, why didn't I tell the Elders, remember the "Two witness rule" the Watchtower follows.

Since I left a few years ago now I have been told of things that went on in local congregations, some of it from members of my own family. Yet they portray themselves as being so unlike the outside world.

""Since I left a few years ago now I have been told of things that went on in local congregations, some of it from members of my own family. Yet they portray themselves as being so unlike the outside world. ""

That's just the ingrained us vs.them mentality which they are conditioned to believe in. It's almost tragic.

My first job was with a uber jwdub building construction contractor. He never paid me my wages, infact , he short changed me. Years went by and I got certified as an Structural Inspector. I found out that this guy was cutting corners on projects. You can say it cost his certification as a builder as the fines mounted. Not a good person.

Just look at what happens at Bethel. HQ.

    Gay massage parties.

GB member Fred Franz and his groupies meeting for bible discussions in the sauna.

    Wife Swapping.

Farm workers getting fellatio from calves.

GB member Edwart Chittey asking Bethelites to rub sun tan oil on his bare bum.

GB member Greenlees caught molesting a little boy.

GB member Anthony Morris getting drunk in public.

With the stuff like the above at headquarters, the mundane local stuff like incest, domestic violence, fraud, child rape, larceny, wife swapping, polygamy, drug dealing, and murder are to be expected.
