Did you ever TURN SOMEONE IN?

    Very Interesting post, and answers.

No, I never felt the need to. When I was young, being a snitch was a capital offense. LOL.

But I was repeatedly turned in for smoking, bad associations, etc....

Someone very close to me turned themselves in for marital relations (the oral thing), and I was appalled by it. I still have trouble imagining what they were thinking, YUK! They had to be "counselled" in the back room, and answer all kinds of embarrassing questions.

When she told me about it, I was like, "they probobly had a circle jerk after you left"...

At any rate, she now says, (she is out now) "I cannot believe We put ourselves through that"!

I can understand some going for help though, it is appropriate to seek counsel from a loving pastor, or what not. But knowing that you will be judged and made to feel guilty and punished kept me from seeking help from the elders.

    I consider myself lucky....

No, but I got turned in for dating a wordly girl but denied it, a double lie none the less. Jehovah never said anything though so I guess it was OK!

In 1978-1979 I was at Bethel and was an elder and floor overseer, and had the whole SR (self-righteous) thing going as do most of the Bethel brothers with position. The Ray Franz/writing dept. thing was just beginning to heat up, and a brother on my floor told me about the independent Bible studies going on in secret. I WARNED him of the consequences and told Fred Fredean, his floor overseer, about it. Fred was a big BA (Bad Attitude) and he let it slide. Odd thing was, a year later I was becoming the "apostate" and reading the Bible exclusively, and Fred clammed up and started totally supporting the Governing Body! The real story can be found in the secret cartoons!

    "Sometimes I stare...Sometimes Its Me..."

Thought it my civic duty to turn best friend in.Feelings of inappropriate self righteousness and some guilt were experienced. We had to keep God's Organization clean and it started with me.An inordinate sense of contribution to the community.

When it was I who became invoved in wrongdoing, the same situation applied to myself.I was first to bring myself before the court for trial and exexcution.Guilt kept me from making a full recovery. Now,however, due to these web sites, and the expos'e of Raymond Franz's book Crisis of Conscience,it has now become somewhat easier to swallow.

    Never.

I always figured it was between them and Jehovah...

However a couple of my friends were gushers. For example: when we were 13 we rented Interview with a Vampire...my friend was having crisis of faith and blabbed to her parents...who blabbed to mine...oh the horror! Dude, I just wanted to see Brad Pitt...

I turned in a newly baptized sister for smoking. She ended up beind df'd. I also turned in a relative for beating the living crap out of his wife. After the elders left he beat the crap out of her even worse and threatened to kill her if she ever breathed a word again.
