Very Interesting post, and answers.
No, I never felt the need to. When I was young, being a snitch was a capital offense. LOL.
But I was repeatedly turned in for smoking, bad associations, etc....
Someone very close to me turned themselves in for marital relations (the oral thing), and I was appalled by it. I still have trouble imagining what they were thinking, YUK! They had to be "counselled" in the back room, and answer all kinds of embarrassing questions.
When she told me about it, I was like, "they probobly had a circle jerk after you left"...
At any rate, she now says, (she is out now) "I cannot believe We put ourselves through that"!
I can understand some going for help though, it is appropriate to seek counsel from a loving pastor, or what not. But knowing that you will be judged and made to feel guilty and punished kept me from seeking help from the elders.
I consider myself lucky....
