Regarding politics and government, it's hopeless. The so called news section is actually op-ed pieces, some times subtle and well disguised, others just flagrant op-ed pieces passing for news articles. What we can do is cover the whole spectrum and do some sort of "averaging". But not enough time for that, so I have turned to tending my own garden instead, a private and productive activity (paraphrasing Voltaire's Candide)

I like Naked Capitalism. It is a 'news' aggregator type sight with daily links on several categories. I actually find the comments section the best.I'm not sure if you would classify them as left or right leaning - they seem to just point out all the BS going on in the world and then let the commentators go at it. Give it a try.
